South Korean tech giant Samsung recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 9 at its Unpacked event in New York. The phone is one of the most anticipated phones of 2018 and was subjected to several leaks ahead of its launch. Android fans (especially Samsung fans) had lot of expectations from the device and we are glad that Samsung has lived up to all the hype and expectations by including several flagship features and specifications in the device. Let us compare the Galaxy Note 9 with other two popular flagships available in the market i.e. Apple iPhone X and Oppo Find X. Galaxy Note 9 sports a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display panel with 1440×2960 pixel resolution and 83.4% screen-to-body ratio. This is the biggest display yet in the Galaxy Note series. The display also features a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 on top for added protection.
Apple iPhone X flaunts a full glass body premium design and features a smaller 5.8-inch OLED display with 1125×2436 pixel and 19.5:9 aspect ratio resulting into 82.9% screen-to-body ratio. So, the phone can easily work in a proper condition for over 5 years which is more than the average life of a smartphone nowadays.
Let’s look at the dimensions of the three phones. The Find X measures 156.70 x 74.30 x 9.40 mm and weighs about 186 grams whereas the iPhone X measures 143.60 x 70.90 x 7.70 mm and weighs in at 174 grams. The Galaxy Note 9 measures 161.90 x 76.40 x 8.80 mm and weighs about 201 grams. So, iPhone X is the slimmest and the lightest phone out of the three.

The Oppo Find X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of inbuilt storage. The Galaxy Note 9 will be powered by Exynos 9810 SoC in India coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 512GB of storage. While the iPhone X is fueled by Apple’s A11 Bionic chipset that features two high-performance CPU cores clocked at 2.39GHz. It features a 3GB RAM, but it is well optimized as it runs on iOS. The storage options on iPhone X include 64GB and 256GB.

The Oppo Find X and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 run Google’s latest Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. On the other hand, the iPhone X runs Apple’s iOS 11 operating system out of the box.
In terms of battery, the Galaxy Note 9 is backed by an impressive 4,000mAh battery that supports fast charging as well as wireless charging technology. While the Find X features a 3,730mAh battery with VOOC flash charging support. Apple’s iPhone X has a relatively tiny 2,716mAh battery but it still doesn’t lag behind much in terms of performance as it benefits from the optimizations of iOS.

For the camera buffs, the Oppo Find X bears a horizontally stacked dual rear camera set up comprising of 16MP primary sensor and 20MP secondary sensor. The front hosts an impressive 25MP pop-up selfie camera to live up to Oppo’s standard of creating good selfie centric smartphones. The front camera also doubles up Face Unlock in the form of AI Face Access which can unlock the phone in 0.1 seconds as claimed by Oppo.
The iPhone X features a vertically stacked dual rear camera set up with a combination of 12MP primary and 12MP secondary sensors. The selfie camera is 7MP, which also acts as Face Unlock.
The Galaxy Note 9 has a horizontally-placed dual rear camera setup which consists of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with a wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture autofocus lens. On the front, you get an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies backed by an f/1.7 aperture and autofocus lens.

The iPhone X was launched last year and is currently priced at about Rs. 85,000 for the 64GB variant and about Rs. 98,000 for the 256GB variant. While, the Oppo Find X comes with a price tag of Rs. 59,990 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB of internal storage variant. The Galaxy Note 9’s price in India is still not known but it is expected to be around Rs. 70,000.

All three phones come loaded with good features and specifications. In terms of pricing, the Note 9 seems to be a good value for money option. The Oppo Find X has a unique design but there can be apprehensions regarding its durability due to the pop-up camera mechanism. The iPhone X is anytime a good (and the only) choice for the ones who love iOS ecosystem.
