Samsung Galaxy J8 vs Moto G6: Design and Display
The Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch full HD+ IPS LCD display with 2,160 x 1,080 pixel resolution and aspect ratio of 18:9. While the Galaxy J8 flaunts a larger 6-inch Super AMOLED HD+ Infinity display with 720 x 1,480 pixel resolution and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. In our opinion, the Moto G6 scores more over Galaxy J8 in terms of design for its full glass body and unique set up of dual rear cameras. The storage can be extended further up to 256GB using a micro SD card. The phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system based on Samsung Experience UI out of the box
The Moto G6 is also backed by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The onboard storage options are 32GB and 64GB with a facility to expand up to 256GB via microSD card.
In terms of battery, the Galaxy J8 features a battery with 3,500mAh capacity without fast charging support whereas the Moto G6 features a battery with 3,000mAh capacity but it supports fast charging.

For the camera buffs, the Galaxy J8 sports a vertically stacked dual rear camera set up comprising of 16MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture + 5MP secondary sensor with f/1.9 aperture. The front bears a 16MP snapper with LED flash for low light selfies and video calls.
The Moto G6 hosts a horizontally stacked dual rear camera set up of 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 5MP secondary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The selfie camera is 16MP. Both the front as well as rear camera set up comes with LED flash for improved image quality in low-light scenarios.

Let us now look at one of the most crucial aspects i.e. the price of both these devices, which should simplify the decision making process to a great extent.
The Galaxy J8 comes in one variant i.e. 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and is priced at Rs. 18,990. The Moto G6 comes in two variants- 3GB RAM + 32GB storage which is priced at Rs. 13,999 and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at Rs. 15,999.
Our Verdict:
As mentioned earlier, both Galaxy J8 and Moto G6 come with good specifications for their price range. However, the Moto G6 scores slightly better in some aspects including the design. In addition, the price tag of Moto G6 is cheaper as compared to Galaxy J8. So, the Moto G6 is a winner in our opinion. However, one thing that turns in Samsung’s favor is that the Samsung is a better-known brand in the smartphone industry as compared to Moto, especially due to its good after sales service. You may need to consider this point before purchasing any of the device.
