We already know that Samsung is trying to ramp up its popular J series of smartphones. Some of the models like Galaxy J4, Galaxy J7 (2018) have already popped up on benchmarking sites. And now its the Galaxy J8 that is spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench with model number ‘Samsung SM-J800FN’ ahead of its official launch. The single-core performance score of the smartphone is 728 whereas the multi-core score is 3683.

The Geekbench listing also mentions some of the specifications. According to the listing, Galaxy J8 will be running Android 8.0 and is powered by 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 processor along with 3GB RAM. The device is expected to sport a 16MP cameras with full HD recording capabilities.

Considering the specs and knowing that it falls under J series, the J8 will be a pocket-friendly mid-ranged phone. It is not yet known that when will the phone be launched, however you can expect the same soon as Samsung will be keen to take on the other mid-ranged phones launched by counterparts like Xiaomi and Oppo. Usually the budget phones by these Chinese OEMs are value for money (due to the hardware configuration and features that are offered in that price range) as compared to Samsung’s budget phones, so Samsung will really need to price the devices aggressively in order to combat the challenge and gain some market share in that space.

Keep watching this space for further updates about Galaxy J8 (2018) and other upcoming J series smartphones by Korean tech giant Samsung.
