Did you miss out on the most popular Samsung Galaxy SIII. Well, no worries. You can still hope to have a similar smartphone experience from Samsung’s brand new baby, the Samsung Galaxy Grand. The gadget was already in news well before its official announcement. While Samsung fans seem to be quite content about the in-built features, one thing seems to be bothering them a bit – the price factor. The current market price of the gadget is Rs. 21,500. But, it is worth spending that hefty amount on this brand new gizmo? Let us find out.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Mobile PhoneFeatures

  • 5-inch TFT display
  • Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
  • 1.2 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 8 MP primary camera, 2 MP secondary camera

In terms of design, the Galaxy Grand seems to be not too different from the Galaxy SIII. The phone features an impressive 5-inch WVGA TFT touchscreen and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and a 1 GB RAM. Loaded with the latest Android v4.1 OS, the phone sports an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. An internal memory of 8 GB seems quite sufficient. If not, you can further extend it up to 64 GB. The phone is available in single SIM and dual SIM versions. However, it is not yet known which of the two versions the smart phone giant plans to launch in India.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand weighs 162g while its predecessor the Galaxy SIII weighs just 133g. The extra weight is in no ways putting the former on the backseat. Note that the Grand has a 5-inch screen against the 4.8-inch present in the Galaxy SIII. So, that extra weight is definitely justified. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, 3G, 2G, S Voice, micro USB and Bluetooth 4.0.

Apart from the basic features, not too much is known yet about the new Samsung Galaxy Grand. After Galaxy Note and the Samasung Galaxy Note II, the Galaxy Grand is the third phablet, Samsung will be launching in India. Keep your fingers crossed for Samsung may also launch the Galaxy Premier and the Galaxy SIII mini very soon in India.

Once the gadget is out for grabs, make sure you compare its price at The best deal can save you a fortune.
