South Korean multinational conglomerate Samsung has launched the second-generation of its 2-in-1 laptop tablet hybrid – The Galaxy Book 2, at an event in New York. The gadget will be priced at $999 which roughly converts to around Rs 73,400. The Galaxy Book 2 will be available for sale in the US beginning November 2.

With the Galaxy Book 2, Samsung has joined the list of the ‘Always Connected PC’ segment. The devices which are a part of the “Always Connected PCs’ segment run Windows 10. They also offer SIM and LTE connectivity support. The Galaxy Book 2 sports a long battery life and comes with “always on” functionality.

Samsung Galaxy Book 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 850 SoC mobile platform. The laptop hybrid runs Windows 10 out-of-the-box. With Windows 10, the Galaxy Book 2 can run uninterrupted for 20 hours on full charge. The Galaxy Book 2 also features ‘Adaptive Fast’ charging. Galaxy Book 2 is equipped with Snapdragon X20 LTE modem and comes with 4G LTE connectivity.

As for the interface, the device comes with a Full HD+ 12-inch Super AMOLED display. It packs in 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. An 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera makes it an interesting gadget to have – be it for professional video calls or for selfies.

The connectivity options on the Galaxy Book 2 include 2 USB Type-C ports. These are a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The laptop hybrid comes with a fingerprint sensor that has been embedded at the rear for enhanced security and authorised access.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 will ship with the S Pen and a keyboard which is back-lit and has a precision touchpad. It makes writing on Book 2 a seamless and enjoyable experience. The device sports AKG-powered dual speakers with built-in Dolby Atmos.

The 2-in-1 tablet also features Samsung Flow which enables users to mirror their Galaxy smartphones, seamlessly transfer files and check notifications in real-time.
