Releasing new successor models of the highly successful phones is quite evidently in trend these days. It has become the order of the day that all major Smartphone makers are following. LG, Xiaomi, Sony, they all only recently released new iteration of their previously successful and popular smartphone models and it was only a matter of time when Samsung joined the bandwagon. Not very long ago, Samsung released its Flagship model Galaxy A7 and within less than a year of its release, its successor, Galaxy A8 was lurking on the horizon and has finally launched.
Over the past few weeks rumors have been flying around thick and fast about the release of Galaxy A8. While, Samsung officials have strictly maintained to keep the lid closed tightly about the features, release date and specifications of Galaxy A8, the huge hype created around the release of Galaxy Note 5 has kind of pushed back the publicity of A8 a little. The leaked image of Galaxy A8 caught the attention of the online community after it was allegedly certified by the Federal Communications Commission and TENAA, the governing body of telecommunications in China. Design and Colour options
The Galaxy A8 is just 5.9mm thick, it may not be the slimmest phone in the market but it certainly looks beautiful. The sleek and sexy design of the phone would give a tough run for its money to its counterparts like Oppo R5 and Gionee Elife S7, which are slimmer than Galaxy A8. The pone boasts of a metal size panels, which look very similar to the Galaxy S6 model. The successors of Galaxy A7 will be available in 3 basic and smart colors – White, Black and Gold.
OS and UI
Recently, all the smartphone makers have been focusing heavily on providing an UI that is user friendly even for the most amateur users. The Galaxy A8 boasts of the latest Samsung TouchWiz UI and it runs on latest Android OS, Loillipop.
The Galaxy A8 has a large display, the 5.7 inch screen boasts of a full HD super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The Galaxy A8 is slated to come in 2 different variations – one with 16 GB internal storage capacity and the other with 32 GB storage space. Both the variants will have an external support of microSD card, expandable upto 128 GB
Galaxy A8 boasts of a massive 16 MP rear camera with auto focus, wide angle lens, LED Flash and optical image stabilization features. The front Camera is a 5 MP camera that is perfect for clicking awesome selfie and for video calling.
Owing to its slim profile, Samsung has squeezed in a finger print sensor, which also doubles up as a home button.
