South Korean tech giant Samsung has expanded its Galaxy A series with the launch of Galaxy A70 smartphone. The device was spotted on TENAA earlier this week and the company has quietly announced the same ahead of its ‘A Galaxy Event’ on scheduled on April 10. The pricing and the availability details of the phone have not yet been revealed though and we can expect Samsung to share the same on 10th April. All we know so far is that the Galaxy A70 will come in four colour options- Black, Blue, Coral, and White. Samsung Galaxy A70 Features and Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A70 sports a large 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with 1080×2400 pixel screen resolution and 20:9 widescreen aspect ratio. This also makes the Galaxy A70 the first Samsung to sport a cinematic display. The display features minimal bezels across sides, slight chin at the bottom and a tiny waterdrop notch at the top that houses the selfie camera and earpiece. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core chipset along with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage capacity is 128GB, which is expandable further up to 512GB by means of a microSD card. In terms of software, the Galaxy A70 runs on the Samsung’s latest One UI software based on Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. The One UI brings a system-wide Night Mode and App Timer that gives users information regarding screen usage levels. The phone also features Samsung Health, Samsung Pay, and Bixby (Voice Assistant). There’s a 4,500mAh capacity battery underneath to keep things ticking which comes with support for Super-Fast charging at 25W. The dimensions of the device are 164.3 x 76.7 x 7.9 mm.

For the camera buffs, the Galaxy A70 bears a vertically stacked triple camera set up on the back which comprises of a 32MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture + an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor + a third 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, there’s a 32MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

For connectivity purpose, the phone features 3.5mm audio jack, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), NFC and USB Type-C support. For security purpose, the phone features an optical in-display fingerprint sensor rather than a physical fingerprint sensor. It also gets Face Unlock support.

Based on the specs, the Galaxy A70 seems to be a better handset than the Galaxy A50 which was until now, the priciest of the new generation A-Series handsets.
