Samsung Galaxy A50 Design Leaked in Renders: Will Feature Infinity-U Display
With the recent launch of Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphones, Samsung has made it clear that it is going to try its best to capture the market share in the affordable smartphone segment which is currently dominated by Chinese players like Xiaomi. Samsung is also reported to be working on several affordable devices under its Galaxy A series. One of the devices is Galaxy A50 which is speculated to be launched in India immediately after its announcement. There’s another report that hints at launch of three new smartphones dubbed as Galaxy A10, Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A30 by the first quarter of 2019. The Galaxy A50 has been subjected to several leaks in the recent past and today there’s a leaked render (via PriceKart) that reveals its design.
Based on the leaked render, the Galaxy A50 will sport an Infinity-U notched display that will house the 25-megapixel selfie camera. The 6.4-inch display will have minimal bezels on the side but there’s comparatively thick chin at the bottom. The leaked render also showcases an in-display fingerprint scanner. The rear of the device features a vertically stacked triple camera system which is placed at the top left corner and comprises of a 25-megapixel primary sensor coupled with 5-megapixel depth sensor and 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. There’s also an LED flash which is not a part of the camera island but is placed right beneath the same. The bottom edge of the phone features a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C port, tiny microphone and an external speaker grille.
The above render is in line with the earlier leaks which report that the Galaxy A50 will sport a 6.4-inch Infinity-U display with Super AMOLED panel with 1080 x 2340 pixel screen resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Further, the Galaxy A50 is speculated to be powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core Exynos 9610 SoC along with up to 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of inbuilt storage. So, it could be the first phone to debut with Samsung’s Exynos 9610 chipset. The battery capacity of the device could be 4,000mAh and it could have support for 15W fast charging. In terms of software, the device will run Google’s latest Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box. The expected colour options are Blue, White and Black. In terms of dimensions, the phone will measure 158.6 x 74.7 x 7.7 mm and it will weigh 166 grams.
