Korean tech giant Samsung unveiled its flagships Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ last month on 25th February just ahead of the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. Now the company is launching the devices in India on 6th March at an event in capital city Delhi. Usually Samsung takes a while to launch a phone in India and it does so after the global launch. However, this time around the Indian consumers can grab the latest flagships at the same time as that of other global consumers. The pre-booking for both the phones has already started in Samsung stores by paying a token amount of Rs. 2000. The phones may go on sale from March 16 when it goes on sale in global markets too. In US, the(64GB) base variant of Galaxy S9 comes with a price tag of $720 (approx. Rs. 47,000) whereas the base variant of Galaxy S9+ (64GB) is priced at $840 (roughly Rs. 54,000). However, the prices in India are expected to be a bit on the higher side. The 64GB Galaxy S9 may cost Rs. 50,000+ and 64GB Galaxy S9+ may be priced at Rs. 60,000+.

Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display and is powered by 4GB RAM coupled with Exynos 9810 chipset octo-core chipset. It will come with single primary 12MP camera and an 8MP front camera. The battery capacity of the device will be 3000mAh. The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo with TouchWiz UI on top.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ has bigger 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display and hosts 6GB RAM along with Exynos 9810 chipset octo-core chipset. There’s a dual camera (12MP + 12MP) at the rear and an 8MP camera at the front. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ has been ranked as the number one smartphone camera by DxOMark DxOMark that scores smartphones on the basis of various tests.
