After launching its Galaxy range of tablets, it seems that Samsung has not looked back. It is now continuing the legacy with its latest announcement of the Samsung Galaxy E tablet. For the time being, the tab is listed on Samsung’s website for Taiwan only. It is expected to release in other regions soon. It will be made available for the Taiwanese market later this month.

An entry level tablet by the Korean company, the Galaxy E appears to be aimed at the masses with its relatively low pricing of $225. The tab, with the model name of SM-T560, is a 9.6” TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and a 16:10 ratio. The body is made of plastic with a textured back and sides carved just like the Galaxy S6 Smartphone. Its dimensions are 241.9 x 149.5 x 8.5 mm and weighs 490 grams. It is powered by a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, most likely the Spreadtrum SC7730SE as per reports. Equipped with 1.5 GB of RAM and the fast processor, the Galaxy E promises to give the user a fluid experience at multitasking and no lags while switching between apps.

The Galaxy E tablet will run on the latest Android KitKat ensuring that the user gets to use the hundreds of apps offered by the Android app store. Update to the Lollipop iteration is not yet available. It will also come with Microsoft Office apps installed which will help the user to start designing presentations, writing documents, making spreadsheets as soon as they receive their tab.
On the camera front, the Galaxy E sports a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front facing camera for video calling and clicking selfies. It has 8 GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for additional memory support. The 5000 mAh battery should last for a good enough time with mixed usage. Unfortunately, the Galaxy E supports only Wi-Fi in terms of connectivity unlike the other tabs in the market that support 3G too.
Apparently, the Galaxy E SM-T560 will be the only one in the alphabet’s series, unlike Samsung’s previous Galaxy series; this one does not have a screen size mentioned after its name.

Currently the Samsung Galaxy tablet series has some heavyweight players already in the market. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 sports a 17.78 cm screen, and runs on Android KitKat. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad Core Processor and uses 1.5 GB of RAM. It sports a 3 MP rear and 1.3 front camera. Compared to the new Galaxy E, this one is 3G enabled. Another popular product is the Galaxy Tab S which sports a massive 26.67 cm screen. It comes with a 1.9 GHz Octa Core processor and an impressive 3 GB of RAM. 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded make it appealing. The tab supports not only 3 G but also 4G connectivity.
With such tablets already in the market, it will be interesting to see how the launch of Galaxy Tab E is received by the buyer’s market.
