Rugged version of Motorola Moto G named Moto G Forte now listed on company’s site

US based Motorola has launched a rugged variant of its Moto G. The device named Moto G Forte is now listed on company’s website in Mexico. The Moto G Forte is identical to Moto G in terms of features, except that it sports a rugged hard cover called as Grip Shell out-of-the box. The Grip Shell case provides a solid grip to the device and adds a layer of protection in case it drops to the floor. The rugged shell can also be bought as an accessory in US as well as in India for $19.99 and Rs. 999 respectively.


The Moto G Forte features a 4.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. The phone runs on Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It packs a 2070mAh battery capable of lasting up to 24 hours with mixed usage.

There are no details revealed yet regarding the pricing and availability of Moto G Forte.

Motorola launched Moto G in India via Flipkart in February. Recently the online megastore Flipkart is also offering Moto G with a discount of Rs. 2000 under an exchange scheme.
