Chinese handset maker and one of the market leaders, Xiaomi, has finally launched its much-anticipated Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphones in India. Both the phones were launched at company’s home town China last month as one of the first smartphones of the newly established Redmi sub-brand and now both of them have hit the Indian market with slight changes. This also makes India the first market outside of China to get these smartphones. Read further to know more.

Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro Price and Availability in India

The Redmi Note 7 is priced in India at Rs. 9,999 for the base variant i.e. 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage. Whereas the top variant i.e. 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage is priced at Rs. 11,999. There will be three colour options available for the interested buyers- Onyx Black, Ruby Red, and Sapphire Blue. Initially the phone will be sold via flash sale on Flipkart.com, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting March 6. The phone will later on be available in offline stores as well, however the exact date for the same has not yet been revealed by the company.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro starting price in India is set at Rs. 13,999 for the base variant i.e. 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant. The top model i.e. 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage will retail at Rs. 16,999. The phone will go on sale starting March 13 and it will be sold via Mi.com, Flipkart.com, and Mi Home store with select offline retailers to follow later on. There will be three colour options available for the buyers- Neptune Blue, Nebula Red, and Space Black. Notably, the first two colour variants come with a gradient finish on the back.

The Redmi Note 7 sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ LTPS display with screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display comes with a waterdrop-style notch aka Dot Notch at the top. Both the front as well as back of the device is protected by 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, there’s a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset to keep things ticking along with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. In terms of storage, there are two options- 32GB and 64GB. Both variants come with an option to expand up to 256GB via microSD card. In terms of software, the device runs Android Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box. All of this is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support via USB Type-C port. For security purpose, the phone features a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 7 bears a dual rear camera set up consisting of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with 1.25-micron pixels + a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there’s a 13-megapixel snapper on the front.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro also comes with a glass finish at the back and a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (2340×1080 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and waterdrop notch at the top. It is also protected with Gorilla Glass 5 on front as well as back. The device draws power from octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC instead of Snapdragon 660 that powers the Redmi Note 7. In terms of memory, there are two options-  4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage and 6GB of RAM + 128GB of inbuilt storage. The storage can be expanded further up to 256GB by means of microSD card. The battery capacity of the phone is 4,000mAh battery and it comes with Quick Charge 4.0 support.

For the camera buffs, the Redmi Note 7 Pro features a vertically aligned dual camera rear camera module comprising of a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture + a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. The rear camera set up comes with several AI backed features such as AI scene detection, AI Portrait 2.0, and Night mode. The front hosts a 13-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calls.

Xiaomi is already a market leader in the budget smartphone segment, thanks to its strategy of offering power packed devices with an affordable price tag. The has done it again with Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro and both the smartphones are sure to keep Xiaomi ahead of its competition.
