After a long wait, Xiaomi finally introduced the Redmi branded Smart TV X series in India. The TVs from the Chinese tech giant that were available until now were branded under Mi. Now, with a complete new lineup, Xiaomi is trying to increase its market presence.

The Smart TV X series debuted in May 2020 in the brand’s home market. The variant launched in the Indian market is identical in terms of specs & features. With a premium set of tools available onboard, the series come in three screen sizes. Let’s dive in to get more details.

Redmi Smart TV X series: Key specs & features

The three screen sizes that Redmi is offering are 50”, 55”, and 65”. The panel on all the 3 variants is a 4K HDR one that produces a resolution of 3840*2160 pixels. Apart from the high-end panel, the bezels on this Redmi TV series are quite thin along with HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG support. To offer viewers a better viewing experience, Xiaomi is offering a Vivid Picture Engine that will help in getting deeper blacks, better color reproduction, and improved screen calibration.

Coming to the speakers, users will get multiple speakers giving a combined output of 30W. The speakers will also support DTS Virtual: X, DTS HD, and Dolby Audio. At its core, Smart TV X series sports a Mali G52 MP2 GPU coupled with a 64-bit quad-core A55 SoC. The TV comes with 2 gigs of RAM and 16 gigs of onboard storage. The TV boots on Android 10 with a customized PatchWall UI, the series will also come integrated with Google Assistant and Chromecast.

Some other features that TV has to offer are universal search tool, 1-click play, low latency for gaming, kids mode, and Quick Wake. The onboard connectivity features are 3x HDMI 2.1, one eARC, dual-band Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm jack, 2 USB ports, and Bluetooth.

Pricing & availability

The base 50” variant of Redmi Smart TV X is priced at ₹32,999 whereas the 55” and 65” variants will come at a retail price of ₹38,999 and ₹57,999, respectively. Customers can buy the TVs from Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Studio, and Mi Home. The sale will commence at 12 noon on Mar 26. As an introductory offer, there is a flat ₹2,000 discount for ICICI Bank cardholders.
