Highlights of the phone include a large 4,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 632 SoC, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The starting price of the device in India is Rs. 7999. This makes things even more confusing in the sub-10k price segment as the segment is getting more and more crowded daily as almost every brand is eyeing for a bigger share of the market due to its potential. Considering the price and specs, Xiaomi’s Redmi 7 is expected to compete against the likes of Realme C2 and Samsung’s Galaxy M10. The Redmi 7 price in India is set at Rs. 7,999 for the base variant with 2GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage and it goes up to Rs. 8,999 for the top model with 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant. The phone comes in Comet Blue, Eclipse Black, and Lunar Red colour options.

The Realme C2 starting price in India is Rs. 5,999 which is for the 2GB RAM + 16GB storage option, while its 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 7,999. The phone comes in Diamond Blue and Diamond Black colour options.

Samsung’s Galaxy M10 falls in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment and is priced starting at Rs. 7,990 for the base variant i.e. 2GB of RAM + 16GB of internal storage. Its top variant is priced at Rs. 8,990 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant.

The Realme C2 comes across as more affordable option of the three but let’s see it provides good value for money than the other two.

The Redmi 7 sports a 6.26-inch HD+ display with screen resolution of 720×1520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer of protection on top and features 84-percent NTSC colour gamut. Redmi 7 is also splash and dust-resistant with P2i coating, something that its competitors do not offer. It comes in Black, Red and Blue colour options. The Realme C2 features a plastic body and features a 6.1-inch HD+ (720×1560 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display comes with a tiny water drop shaped notch at the top which houses the selfie camera and helps to boost the screen to body ratio. It features a smudge-free diamond-cut design, like we saw on the earlier Realme 1 and Realme 2. The phone comes in Diamond Blue and Diamond Black colour options. Whereas the Galaxy M10 sports a polycarbonate back panel and has 6.2-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) Infinity-V Display panel along with a 19:9 aspect ratio. There’s no clear winner here as all three phones have the trendy notched display and feature HD+ resolution. The Redmi Note 7 gets a slight advantage of Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.

The Redmi 7 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC along with 2GB or 3GB of RAM (depending on the variant) and 32GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 512GB by means of a microSD card.

The Realme C2 draws its power from 2.0 GHz MediaTek Helio P22 processor with IMG PowerVR GE 8320 GPU. There are two options in terms of memory- 2GB RAM + 16GB inbuilt storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage.

The Galaxy M10 has Exynos 7870 SoC underneath to keep things ticking and is paired with 2GB and 3GB RAM options. There are two options in terms of inbuilt storage- 16GB and 32GB (expandable up to 512GB).

The Galaxy M10 lags behind in this department as both Redmi 7 and Realme C2 feature comparatively powerful chipsets.

The Redmi 7 runs MIUI 10 based on Google’s latest Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box and is fueled by 4,000mAh battery which Xiaomi claims can last for hours easily, in a single charge. It comes bundled with 10W charger.

The Realme C2 also runs latest Android 9.0 Pie OS with company’s own ColorOS 6.0 on top. It too is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.

The Galaxy M10 packs a 3,400mAh battery and is shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo on top of Samsung Experience 9.5 UX.

Once again, Samsung’s Galaxy M10 lags behind as compared to the other two devices due to its older OS version and smaller capacity battery.

All three phones come equipped with dual camera set up on the back. Starting with Xiaomi Redmi 7 which comes with a 12MP primary camera with 1.25um pixel size and a 2MP depth sensor. The Realme C2 bears a 13MP primary sensor coupled with a 2MP secondary depth sensor. While the Samsung’s Galaxy M10 comes with a 13MP primary camera paired with a 5MP wide-angle secondary camera.

For selfies, the Redmi 7 sports an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and the company is touting AI portrait mode as well as AI Beautify 4.0. The Realme C2 offers a 5MP AI selfie camera, whereas the Galaxy M10 also offers 5-megapixel sensor at the front.
