The launch date of the phone in India is still not known but the same is speculated to arrive in the country within next couple of months along with Redmi 6. Both the phones have several specifications in common and are priced in the similar price range, which can make the decision-making process a bit difficult. The Redmi 6 runs Android Oreo 8.1 operating system out of the box topped with Xiaomi’s own MIUI 10, whereas the Redmi 6 Pro is shipped with Android Oreo 8.1 operating system topped with MIUI 9. So, the Redmi 6 runs the latest software as compared to Redmi 6.

The Redmi 6 is powered by an octa core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage. On the other hand, the Redmi 6 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 graphics processor and 3GB/4GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage capacity of the device is 32GB/64GB, which can be extended up to 256GB using a microSD card.

The Redmi 6 is backed by a 3,300mAh battery, whereas the Redmi 6 Pro is fueled by slightly better battery with a capacity of 4,000mAh.

For the camera buffs, the Redmi 6 features a horizontally stacked dual camera set up on the rear which comprises of 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. The front hosts a 5MP selfie camera with built-in AI portrait mode and AI driven facial unlock feature. The rear camera also features several AI modes.

The Redmi 6 Pro carries a vertically stacked dual camera set up consisting of a 12MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. The front features a 5MP camera for selfies which features AI portrait mode and HDR. The front camera of Redmi 6 Pro can also be used to unlock the phone.

Of course, the actual price in India will defer than the one converted above. But still the Redmi 6 will be comparatively cheaper as compared to Redmi 6 Pro. So, if you have a stiff budget then you can go for Redmi 6, but if you are fine with stretching it a bit then Redmi 6 Pro is a good buy as it has slightly better specifications as compared to Redmi 6.
