The Chinese giant has unveiled a trio in the form of Redmi A1, Redmi 11 Prime 4G, and Redmi 11 Prime 5G for the Indian market. Among the three, Redmi A1 will be the one with the entry level price tag and features like bigger battery, MediaTek SoC, leather-textured rear, near stock Android, a taller aspect ratio, and more.

Moving to the Redmi 11 Prime series, the brand has launched both the 4G and 5G variants. In terms of key features, Redmi is offering a 90Hz display, 6 gigs of memory, a higher megapixel camera, MediaTek CPU, and more. Let’s dive in to get a better look at the specs and features.

Redmi A1: Key specs & features

The overall design of the Redmi A1 is somewhat boxy with a display size of 6.5”. The LCD panel will feature a water drop notch and it will produce HD+ resolution. As it will fall under the entry-level category, Redmi A1 will boot on Android 12 Go and it will offer a smoother and cleaner Android setup. In terms of refresh rate, it will be capped at 60Hz.

Moving to the optics, the notch will house a 5-megapixel camera whereas on the rear, it will be a dual camera system with a primary 8MP sensor. Though it comes with a chunkier 5,000 mAh battery, the smartphone only supports charging speeds up to 10W. At its core, Redmi A1 will have MediaTek Helio A22 chipset paired with up to 4GB memory and 64GB storage. There will also be a microSD card slot to further expand the storage.

Redmi 11 Prime 4G: Key specs & features

With a tad bigger display of 6.58-inch, Redmi 11 Prime 4G will use Gorilla Glass 3 on the IPS LCD panel that will produce Full HD+ resolution. The 90Hz panel’s FHD+ resolution will have the pixel count of 1080*2400 pixels. Redmi is offering a peak brightness of 400 nits. Moving to the optical setup, the notch will house the same 5MP sensor that is on Redmi A1. On the rear, it will carry a triple camera module with a primary 50MP sensor paired with dual 2MP sensors for macro and depth shots.

At its core, the all-new Redmi 11 Prime 4G will have MediaTek’s Helio G99 processor accompanied by up to 128GB storage and 6GB of RAM. Redmi is using UFS 2.2 storage and LPDDR4x memory and the whole package will weigh 201 grams with a thickness of 8.9mm. Redmi is also offering IP52 certification for splash resistance. The smartphone will draw its power from a 5,000 mAh battery that will support fast charging up to 18W.

Redmi 11 Prime 5G: Key specs & features

The display on the 5G variant of the Redmi 11 Prime will be identical with its 4G counterpart. It will have a 90Hz 6.58” display that will produce FHD+ resolution. It will also have the Gorilla Glass 3 protection with an 8MP camera placed inside the front notch. On the rear, it will come with a dual camera array with a primary 50MP sensor accompanied by a 2MP lens for portrait photography.

Taking a deeper dive, Redmi is offering Dimensity 700 SoC paired with 6 gigs of memory and 128GB onboard storage. Redmi 11 Prime 5G will have the 18W charging support on 5,000 mAh battery. With a thickness of 8.9 mm, the device will only weigh 152 grams. It will also boast of IP52 water resistance certification.

The latest Redmi 11 Prime lineup will boot on MIUI 13 based on the Android 12 operating system. There will also be a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button on both the devices. A few key connectivity features are WiFi 5, 5G connectivity, IR Blaster, microSD card, a 3.5mm combo jack, etc. The device will have a total of 8 5G bands.

Pricing and availability

Starting with the Redmi A1, the smartphone will be available in multiple colors such as Light Green, Light Blue, and Black. There will be two RAM/storage combinations of 2GB + 32GB priced at ₹6,499 and 3GB + 64GB, the pricing is yet to be announced. Moving to the Redmi 11 Prime series, it will be available in two color options; black and green. Both the 4G and 5G variants will have two RAM/storage combinations of 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB. The 4GB and 6GB variant of the 11 Prime 4G will cost ₹12,999 and ₹14,999, respectively. For the 5G variant, the price tags will be bumped to ₹₹13,999 and ₹15,999 for the 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants, respectively.

The all-new Redmi A1 will go live on September 9 at 4PM whereas the 5G version of Redmi 11 Prime will be available a few hours earlier at noon the same day. The availability details of the 4G variant aren’t yet made public by the brand. In terms of offers, customers can avail a flat ₹1,000 discount on ICICI Bank card and EMI transactions. Jio will also offer 12GB mobile data to all the buyers.
