Under the brand’s all-new Realme 9 lineup, the latest Realme 9i will be the debut device to be launched for the Indian market. In a recent announcement by the brand, it was revealed that the Realme 9 lineup has sold around 40 million units, globally. The all-new Realme 9i is released next in line with last year’s Realme 8i that was powered by Helio G96 SoC. The latest addition to the 9-series will sport a Qualcomm chipset.

Few salient features of the newly launched Realme 9i are 90hz screen refresh rate, a triple-camera setup with 50-megapixel primary sensor, a bigger battery with Dart Charge support, and more. The design language might seem a little familiar as it’s borrowed from the GT Neo 2, a flagship offering from the house of Realme. The display will carry a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera whereas the triple-camera system on the rear will be housed in a rectangular module.

Realme 9i: Key specs & features

The 6.6” IPS LCD panel on the Realme 9i will produce FHD+ resolution with a pixel count of 1080*2400. The panel will offer a touch sampling rate of 180Hz, a varying screen refresh rate of 90Hz, and a pixel density of 401ppi. The display will go up to a peak luster of 480 nits. The punch-hole cutout will house a 16-megapixel sensor with a recording capabilities of 1080p at 30fps. The front camera will also support timelapse, portrait mode, night shot, and AI beauty feature. Moving to the rear, the triple-camera setup will boast of a primary 50MP f/1.8 sensor. It will come paired with dual 2MP sensors for macro (with 4cm focal length) and monochrome lens. The camera app will offer features such as slow-mo recording, video recording up to 30fps, night shots, panorama, and more.

At its core, Realme 9i sports a Snapdragon 680 chipset paired with 6 gigs of LPDDR4x memory and 64GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. Users will get to further expand the storage using the dedicated microSD card slot. Along with it, Realme is offering the virtual RAM feature that users can expand up to 5GB, especially to get a faster gaming experience. With Realme UI 2.0, the all-new Realme 9i will boot on Android 11 out of the box. The 5,000 mAh battery on the device will support 33W fast charging through Dart Charge. A few connectivity features are dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm audio port, and USB Type-C port. For the biometrics, Realme 9i will come with a fingerprint scanner integrated with the power button.

Pricing and availability

The Realme 9i will be available in two color options; Prism Black and Prism Blue. There will be two storage and memory combinations, 4/64GB and 6/128GB available at a price tag of ₹13,999 and ₹15,999, respectively. The early sale will commence on January 22 at noon through e-commerce giant Flipkart and Realme India web store whereas the first official sale will launch on January 25 at noon through Realme IN web store, Flipkart, and other major retail outlets. There are a few reports where it is expected that ICICI Bank credit cardholders will get a cashback offer, however, the details aren’t yet made public.
