Realme 2 Set to Launch Tomorrow as Flipkart Exclusive: Everything You Need to Know

Realme was earlier an Oppo sub-brand but recently the company announced that it will operate as a separate entity. The company is now all set to launch its new smartphone dubbed as Realme 2 which is successor to Realme 1. The phone will be launched tomorrow i.e. 28 August at 12:30 p.m. as Flipkart exclusive. Notably, the Realme 1 was Amazon India exclusive eCommerce giant Flipkart has created a dedicated landing page for the launch of the phone which confirms that the phone will be sport a 6.2-inch notched display and a dual rear camera set up. As per the page, the phone will be backed by a 4230mAh battery (Realme 1 was 3,410mAh) which is #ANotchAbove and can last all day long with a single charge.

Nothing much apart from what we’ve mentioned above has been revealed so far by the company but based on the past leaks and rumors, the Realme 2 is expected to be a bit similar to its predecessort Realme 1 in terms of design. It will sport a larger display on a footprint similar to the Realme 1. There will be two options available for security purpose- rear mounted fingerpritn sensor and Face Unlock. In terms of dimensions, the Realme 2 may measure 156.2×75.6×8.2 and weigh 168 grams.

In the camera department, you can expect a dual camera set up on the back comprising of 13MP + 2MP and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Under the hood, the phone may be powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC along with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Notably, the Realme 1 is powered by Helio P60 chipset with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. So, it should be comparatively cheaper than Realme. The expected price of the phone is Rs. 12,000. It is expected to run Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with company’s own ColorOS 5.1 on top.
