Japanese electronics giant, Panasonic has continued its tradition of launching affordable smartphones with a variety of good features by announcing its newest smartphone. The company has launched P90 as part of its P-series. The entry level budget phone comes at a price of Rs. Rs.5,599.

The Panasonic P90 sports a 5-inch HD display. The resolution of the screen is 720 x 1280 pixels. The display is safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass support to protect against scratches or accidental damage. The display comes with a 2.5D curved glass which lends it a slight curvature and enhances the experience of the users. The smartphone proudly displays the Panasonic brand name of the top of the display as well as the rear of the phone. A set of three capacitive buttons is placed right below the display for navigation. One feature that is missing in the smartphone as compared to its new peers is the fingerprint sensor – a feature that enables secure unlocking. The Panasonic P90 ships in three colour variants namely Blue, Gold and Black.

Under the hood, the latest Panasonic smartphone is powered by a 1.25GHz MediaTek MTK6737 quad-core processor. It is complemented by 1GB RAM which is a bit lower than what users tend to expect today. However, the specifications of the smartphone ensure seamless performance on normal usage such as browsing the internet or watching videos. The smartphone comes with a storage of around 16GB of internal memory. The in-built memory is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card support.

The Panasonic P90 features a 5MP rear camera paired with an LED flash. The smartphone is also equipped with a 5MP sensor (accompanied by an LED flash as well) in the front for selfie lovers and for video calling purposes. As for its battery, the Panasonic P90 is equipped with a 2400 mAh battery. It is smaller than the battery capacity offered by other smartphones today but can last for a day of nominal use once it is fully charged.

The Panasonic P90 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. The company has not yet confirmed if it will receive Android Oreo. The smartphone comes with a dual SIM card slot and supports micro SIM cards.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers all the basic options like 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS & FM Radio. The Panasonic P90 is available and sold across most retail outlets in the country. The P90 seems to be targeted to first time users if its entry-level specifications are any indication. The smartphone, as per its specifications and price, is slated to compete with smartphones from Xiaomi and Comio.
