Panasonic has released the Eluga Ray 500 smartphone in India. It got listed on the e-commerce website Flipkart and may go on sale in the Big Billion Days sale starting from September 21 for Rs 8,999.

The Panasonic Eluga Ray 500 is a dual SIM phone with 4G VoLTE support. So, you can make calls from Jio SIM without installing any software. The device features a well-designed metallic body. The phone sports a 5-inch HD IPS (In-Plane Switching) screen. Powering the device is the MediaTek MT6737 chipset clocked at 1.25 GHz. It has 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. The physical home button doubles up as a fingerprint sensor.

With dual-camera optics becoming a rage in recent times, Panasonic offering this tech for under Rs 10,000. You get a 13 MP f/2.0 aperture + 8 MP f/2.4 aperture dual camera configuration on the back. There is a 5 MP selfie shooter with 3P Lens and f/2.4 aperture. The camera also gets HDR mode, Panoramic mode, Beauty, and Wide angle mode.

The phone gets Accelerometer, Proximity and Ambient light sensors. However, it seems to have skipped on Gyroscopic and Compass sensors which are essential for GPS Navigation. There is a 4000 mAh battery inside which would keep things running for a longer period of time. The phone will ship with Android Nougat 7.0. As per the listing, it comes in Mocha Gold Marine Blue and Champagne Gold colour options.
