Optoma, a part of the Taiwan headquartered Coretronic corporation, has announced the launch of three 4k projectors in India. The projectors are UHD51A, UHD51, and UHD50. The UHD51A is the world’s first home theatre projector that supports Amazon Alexa.

These projectors first made a public appearance at the CES 2018 tech show in January. The UHD51A packs an inbuilt media player and encompasses two HDMI 2.0 input ports along with HDCP 2.2 support. This enables the projector to be compatible with the latest 4K UHD video playback devices. It also works seamlessly with gaming consoles with HDR at a 60 Hz refresh rate.

The UHD51 and the UHD50 do not support Alexa voice assistant. They are designed using the latest 4K UHD DLP technology from Texas Instruments. Due to the use of latest technology, the projectors can produce 8.3 million unique pixels.

The projectors are equipped with a 4K precision lens to ensure crystal clear rendering of images, right to the minutest detail. The new series of projectors meet the CTA (Consumer Technology Association) requirements for 4K UHD. The projectors also comply with the HDR compatible display standards. The Optoma projectors offer RGBRGB color wheel and a contrast ratio of 500:000:1. The projectors also feature a HDR10 with Rec.2020/DCI-P3 wide color gamut compatibility.

These three newly launched Optoma projectors can deliver up to 300 inches with vertical lens shift and 1.3X zoom for easy installation. The projectors weigh around 5.34 kg and operate almost silently with noise levels of not more than 25dB. The lamp life of the projectors is around 15,000 hours.

The UHD51A is priced at Rs. 285,000. The UHD51 comes in a bit cheaper at Rs. 265,000. The UHD50 is available for Rs. 250,000. That leaves the viewers in India with a good range of choices in the ultra-high-definition home cinema market.

Commenting on the launch, Gordon Wu, Vice President at Optoma APAC, “Continuing our success with the launch of the Optoma UHD65 and UHZ65 4K projectors this past fall, Optoma is once again putting the industry’s most innovative and cutting-edge 4K technologies into the hands of consumers with UHD51A, UHD51, and UHD50. As leaders in the ultra-high-definition home cinema market, we’re happy to introduce the new generation of 4K resolution projectors to continue providing our customers cinema-quality viewing experiences at incredibly accessible prices.”
