Oppo has launched its new mid-range smartphone Oppo 83 in India. It comes with a price tag of Rs 13,990 and will be available for purchase via Amazon and Flipkart as well as retail stores starting January 20 onwards. The smartphone comes in Black and Gold options.

The Oppo A83 sports a sleek body with nicely tucked antenna lines on the top and bottom. The company likes to call it a UFO Curve Design Philosophy as it gets a full-screen display with thin bezels. The phone sports a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) LCD 2.5D curved display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, is an octa-core Helio P23 SoC (System on Chip). It is paired with 3 GB of RAM. It bears in 32 GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128 GB via the microSD card slot.

On the photography front, it the Oppo 83 gets a 13 MP sensor and an LED flash at the rear. On the front, you have an 8 MP selfie shooter for video calling and selfies. The phone has face recognition technology and can unlock the phone within 0.18 seconds using 128 unique feature points on the face. The smartphone also has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and comes with a pre-installed O-Share file-sharing app that is claimed to transfer six to seven photos in just a second.

The Oppo A83 is a dual-SIM phone with 4G VoLTE calling support. Other features include Wi-Fi, GPS, Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Wi-Fi Direct. Sensors on board include proximity, accelerometer, and compass. The Oppo A83 runs on Color OS 3.2-based on top of Android 7.1 Nougat and is powered by a 3090 mAh battery.
