The Chinese tech mogul has unveiled its Reno 8 series for the Indian market. The series will carry two devices, Oppo Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro. The all-new Reno 8 will be next in line with the Reno 7 that was launched earlier this year in February.

At the event, Oppo has revealed a few devices alongside the smartphone series. The brand has debuted the first tablet along with Enco X truly wireless earbuds. The elder sibling Reno 8 Pro is going to be a basically rebranded version of Chinese Reno 8 Pro+. Let’s dive into the blog to know more details.

Oppo Reno 8 series: Key specs & features

Starting with the regular Oppo Reno 8, the smartphone will greet you with a 6.43” screen with a punch hole cutout. Moving to the Reno 8 Pro, it will come with a 6.7” panel. The camera cutout will be aligned on the top center on the Pro variant whereas on the Reno 8, it will be on the top left. The display panel on both the devices will produce FHD+ resolution. The AMOLED panel on the Reno 8 will support up to 90Hz refresh rate whereas the Reno 8 Pro will have 120Hz.

On the rear, the Reno 8 series will have the bigger camera bump housing a triple camera array. The camera island on the standard Reno 8 will have a primary 50-megapixel sensor paired with dual 2MP sensors for macro and ultra-wide shots. On the Reno 8 Pro, Oppo is offering the identical setup in terms of primary and macro sensors. However, the ultra-wide sensor is bumped up to 8MP.

The square-shaped camera mod will keep the phone elevated and the Reno 8 series sports a boxy design language. The devices will sport an under-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security.

For the enhanced optical setup, the Reno 8 lineup will sport the brand’s indigenous MariSilicon X chip that is promised to offer top-notch photographs along with exemplary 4K recording. On the front, the punch hole cutout will house 32MP sensors on both the devices.

Digging a bit deeper, the standard Reno 8 will sport MediaTek’s Dimensity 1300 chipset whereas Dimensity 1800-Max will be on the Pro variant. The duo will be equipped with up to 256GB onboard storage and 12 gigs of memory. With 80W of fast charging support, both the Reno 8 smartphones will come with a 4,500 mAh battery. Oppo is also offering heat dissipation through a cooling chamber mechanism.

Pricing and availability

The Reno 8 series will be offered in multiple color options; the standard Reno 8 will be available in Shimmer Gold and Shimmer Black options. Oppo is offering a single 8GB + 128GB variant at a retail price of ₹29,990. On the other hand, Reno 8 Pro will have the color options of Glazed Black and Glazed Green. The single variant with 12GB + 256GB combination will be sold at ₹45,990.

The Reno 8 Pro is already on sale whereas the first sale of Reno 8 will commence on July 25. The lineup can be brought from Oppo IN web store, e-commerce giant Flipkart, and all the major retail outlets.
