Oppo K1 goes on sale in IndiaJust last week Oppo launched its latest K series smartphone in India dubbed Oppo K1. The phone has gone on sale in the country for the first time via eCommerce giant Flipkart.com. The highlights of the device include a waterdrop-style display notch, 6.4-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and in-display fingerprint scanner.

Oppo K1 Price in India and Launch Offers

The Oppo K1 comes in Astral Blue and Piano Black colour options. Its price in India is set at Rs. 16,990 for the lone 4GB RAM + 64GB of internal storage variant. Oppo also launched a 6GB RAM variant of the phone in China in October last year. The same is also expected in India soon.

As a part of the launch offers, Flipkart and Oppo together are offering several benefits to the interested buyers. There’s no-cost EMI option available for 3 or 6 months to the consumers buying the device via Flipkart.com. The buyers can also avail an additional bank discount of 10 per cent with Citi Bank credit and debit cards. Axis Bank Buzz credit card users can avail a 5 per cent discount. Users can also buy a bundled Complete Mobile Protection plan for just Rs. 499.

Oppo K1 Software and Hardware Configuration

The Oppo K1 flaunts a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display with an 19.5:9 aspect ratio resulting into screen-to-body ratio of about 91 percent. The edge-to-edge screen comes with a tiny waterdrop shaped notch at the top that houses the selfie camera and is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display comes with an in-screen fingerprint scanner, making it one of the cheapest devices to offer the same. It draws power from Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC along with Adreno 512 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity of the device is 64GB which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with ColorOS 5.2 on top and houses a 3,600mAh non-removable battery.

For the camera buffs, there’s a dual rear camera set up on the back which consists of a 16-megapixel primary shooter with f/1.7 aperture + a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor with an LED flash. The front hosts an impressive 25-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls. The cameras are backed by AI to further enhance the image quality.

Considering the price and specs, the Oppo K1 will compete against the likes of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro.
