Oppo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has launched its latest smartphone named the Oppo Find X. The newest flagship from Oppo possesses a motorised slider that contains the phone’s cameras. This feature helps to give the phone a display that is almost bezel less.

The Oppo Find X is one of the first smartphones in the world to have this unique camera feature. Furthermore, the smartphone also comes with an interesting O-Face Recognition technology that uses 3D structured light and 15,000 dot projection for facial scanning that is claimed to be 20 times safer than fingerprint recognition. The Oppo Find X is powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with a premium all-glass design.


The price of the Oppo Find X in India has been set at Rs. 59,990. This price is for the variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage. The company has included the 3730mAh battery with VOOC fast charging in this variant launched in India. This contrasts with the variant launched in China which comes with a 3400mAh battery with Super VOOC Flash Charge seen in the 256GB storage variant that’s also called the Super Flash variant.

The smartphone will be available in India in Bordeaux Red and Ice Blue colour variants. The pre-orders for the Oppo Find X will start from July 25 and the actual shipment will begin on August 3.

The users who pre-order the smartphone from Flipkart will receive a gift voucher worth Rs. 3000. The smartphone will be made available via other online and offline channels soon after.

The Oppo Find X features a dual-SIM (Nano). Oppo Find X runs on ColorOS 5.1. This operating system is based on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The smartphone features a 6.42-inch full-HD+ display. The resolution of the display is 1080×2340 pixels. It has an AMOLED panel with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

The Oppo Find X boasts of a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent, brightness of 430 nits, and pixel density of 401ppi. The smartphone is powered by the flagship 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which comes paired with an Adreno 630 GPU and 8GB of RAM.

The Oppo Find X carries a dual camera setup on the back. The secondary camera has a 20-megapixel sensor and the primary camera has a 16-megapixel sensor, both with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash. The camera on the front is a 25-megapixel selfie ‘AI 3D’ camera with the same f/2.0 aperture. Both the front and back camera are hidden under the motorised slider that opens and closes whenever the camera app is triggered.

While the India variant has 256GB of storage, it is not further expandable via microSD card. The India variant is expected to deliver around 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging.

Connectivity options of the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0 LE, GPS, and USB Type-C. The phone weighs around 186 grams and measures 156.7×74.2×9.6mm.
