Oppo is back in the scene with 2 brand new devices – Oppo R7 and the Oppo R7 Plus. The company launched the duo at an event held recently in Beijing. The R7 will be up for grabs by the mid of June, while the R7 Plus is most likely to hit the markets in August.

Priced at around Rs. 26000 and Rs. 30900 respectively, the R7 and the R7 Plus do sound a bit expensive. So, if you are looking out for something within a range of 15 to 20K, you may probably start walking the other way. But, before you do that, it would be wise having a look at the specifications.

Let’s start with the Oppo R7. A 5-inch display is no big deal. However, filling up the empty spaces is a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core processor teamed up with 3 GB of RAM. Not many smartphones presently feature a RAM that powerful.

The device also sports an impressive 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front-facing snapper. Yes, you read it right, an 8 MP font camera. How cool is that? You now surely have a genuine to go ‘click click’.

If that’s not making you happy, have a look at the Oppo R7 Plus, a beast loaded with a 4100 mAh battery coupled with the VOOC fast-charging technology. As a result, you won’t run out of battery life that quickly. The device features a comparatively larger display at 6-inch and runs on the latest Android 5.1 operating system. Other specifications remain the same.

No doubt, the price tag may disappoint you a bit, but don’t forget, these devices are packed with features that not many smarpthones within the same price-range can offer. In fact, with a powerful front-facing camera, they seem to be a step ahead of the rest.

In India, the Oppo R7 and the R7 Plus are viewed as potential rivals to the flagship Samsung and iPhone devices. But, will the duo be able to climb its way up to the top? We need to wait and watch.
