Chinese phone manufacturer Oppo has launched its updated A71 (2018) smartphone in Pakistan and Taiwan. The previous iteration of the Oppo A71 was launched here in India back in September last year. The OPPO A71 (2018) comes in Black and Gold colors and is listed on OPPO’s Taiwan and Pakistan sites. It is said to be priced at PKR 19,899 (approx. Rs 11,500) in Pakistan.

It sports a sleek metal unibody design with chamfered edges and exactly same dimensions of 143.1 x 73.8 x 7.6 mm as its predecessor. Moreover, it also weighs the same at 137 grams. It gets a similar 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. The major upgrade comes in the form of an octa-core Snapdragon 450 SoC firepower as opposed to the MediaTek MT6750 SoC of the outgoing model. It bears in 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256 GB via the dedicated microSD card slot.

On the photography front, it is equipped by a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture coupled with LED Flash and PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus). There is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with large 1.4μm sensor, which allow bokeh effect. Similar to its other expensive counterparts, the Oppo A71 gets A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) powered beautification mode which recognizes skin tone and type, the gender and age of all subjects within an image to beautify a shot.

Other features include Dual-SIM with 4G VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. The Oppo A71 (2018) runs on ColorOS 3.2 on top of Android 7.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3000 mAh battery under the hood.
