With its distant cousins like OnePlus and Vivo already holding quite a considerable share in the budget Smartphone market, it has taken some innovation and major product strategizing for Oppo to make a mark in the field. The latest in this endeavour is the Oppo A57, a Smartphone touted to be one of the best selfie camera phones available around.
Launched this week in China for its domestic market, the Oppo A57 boasts of some of the best features and specs, along with a reasonably elegant design. However, the phone’s highlight is its 16MP front camera, something that only a few other smartphones can boast of.
DISPLAY & DESIGN
To be available in Gold and Rose Gold colour variants, the Oppo A57 sports a 5.2” display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The phone incorporates new-age security into its Home button in the form of a fingerprint sensor. The 2.5D curved glass screen makes it ergonomic to use as well as add to the aesthetic appeal of the phone.
It is not every day that you find a Smartphone that brings out the photographer in you. Oppo A57 comes with a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture which ensures that all your selfies have the best clarity! Accompanying the 16Mp front camera is a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, flash, and PDAF. Indeed, with this phone, the secondary camera works much like a primary one!
HARDWARE, SOFTWARE & STORAGE
The 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor along with the Adreno 505 GPU is the enabler that ensures that you multitask with ease and that you get the most out of the games that you play on the phone. Switch between apps seamlessly, thanks to the 3GB RAM. To store all the fun selfies and videos that you take, the user gets 32GB of internal memory, which can be complemented by another 128GB of external memory using the card slot. Furthermore, you could download all the best apps from the Android PlayStore as the Marshmallow iteration of Android is what runs the Smartphone.
The 4G enabled Smartphone supports dual-SIM and is powered by a 2,900 mAh battery. On the battery front, Oppo could be a bit lagging, but with everybody carrying a power bank around all the time, the average battery life should not be a problem.
Priced at 1,599 yuan which roughly translates to Rs. 15,800, the Oppo A57 may not hit the Indian markets as soon as it hits the Chinese one, but for now, Indian users can take a look at another Oppo product- Oppo F1s.
