The OnePlus 6T that has been launched just a few weeks ago has received some minor updates to fix bugs and issues raised by users.

The smartphone brand has pushed an OxygenOS 9.0.5 update earlier this month. The company has now started rolling out another minor update called the OxygenOS 9.0.6 that will try to enhance the unlocking experience and further optimize the user experience on the OnePlus 6T.

The OxygenOS 9.0.6 will have a staged rollout to a limited number of OnePlus 6T users. Once they receive the update, it will be extended to a broader user base over the subsequent days. The update will be available for the global OnePlus 6T variant and it will not be extended to the T-Mobile variant as of now.

If you are a OnePlus 6T user, you can manually check for the update by clicking settings on your phone and checking for system updates.

The new OxygenOS 9.0.6 update improves unlocking experience which indicates that there might have been an issue with the in-display fingerprint sensor. It is still unknown if this update will work to improve the speed or the animation of screen unlock.

The update will also optimize standby power consumption and image processing. In addition to the above, the changelog also mentions fixes with adding APN on Verizon network. Another issue that was fixed by OnePlus is that it saw no third-party app notifications from the Play Store.

OnePlus recently launched a Thunder Purple colour variant of the OnePlus 6T in India. The phone is available in the new colour option with 8GB + 128GB storage variant at a price of Rs 41,999. The OnePlus 6T is an incremental update over the OnePlus 6. The smartphone will get a new waterdrop display and it will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, there won’t be any significant changes. The Snapdragon 845 chipset will power the smartphone and it will be equipped with a 16MP + 20MP dual camera system. The OnePlus 6T will ship with Android 9 Pie.
