Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has finally made its 6T McLaren Edition official. The much-hyped phone comes with a McLaren-themed design along with a carbon fiber pattern integrated into the rear-mounted glass, which is the same material used in the McLaren MCL33 2018 Formula One car as claimed by the company. The device also comes with McLaren’s signature ‘Papaya Orange’ wrapping around its bottom edge. There is more McLaren stuff in the box as well. The highlights of the device are 10GB RAM and company’s new fast charging technology dubbed as Warp Charge 30.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is priced in the UK at GBP 649 which is roughly Rs. 58,800. Notably, the regular 8GB RAM + 256GB inbuilt storage Midnight Black variant is priced at GBP 579 i.e. roughly Rs. 52,500. The McLaren edition will go on sale in Western Europe and North America starting from Thursday i.e. December 13. The details regarding its availability in India will be known after the launch event which is scheduled in Mumbai tomorrow.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition Features and Specifications

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition sports a 6.41-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display features a waterdrop-style notch at the top that houses three-in-one ambient light sensor, distance, and RGB sensor, as well as the front facing camera. The display also features Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The device draws power from an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 10GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. The dual-SIM (Nano) phone runs OxygenOS-based on Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box and is backed by a decent 3,700mAh battery which comes with fast charge support that can deliver a full day of power in 30 minutes of charge as claimed by the company. The bundled charger also comes with braided orange cable.

 

For the camera buffs, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition features a dual rear camera setup comprising a 16-megapixel primary Sony IMX519 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture + 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K secondary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. The rear camera can shoot 4K videos at 60fps as well as Super Slow Motion Videos and features a dual-LED flash. The front hosts a 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and supports EIS just like the rear camera.

For security purpose, the phone features an in-display fingerprint sensor can unlock the smartphone in 0.34 seconds and can work with the OnePlus screen protector as well. However, the company doesn’t guarantee that it will work with third-party screen protectors. In addition, there’s also Face Unlock feature that can unlock the smartphone in 0.4 seconds. The dimensions of OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition are 157.5×74.8×8.2 mm and its weight is about 185 grams.
