OnePlus has launched a Lava Red edition of its 5T smartphone in India. Announced back in November, the handset was only available in China. This new version joins the ranks of Star Wars Limited edition and Sandstone White Edition in India. Virtually unchallenged in this price category for quite some time, OnePlus is now facing the heat from the Honor View 10. With this new Lava Red version OnePlus looks to add zing to its product.
The phone comes with a black bezel on the front and a bright red finish on the back. It requires two anodic oxidation processes. It uses double blasting and an AF coating to achieve the texture and feel. The OnePlus 5T Lava Red version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is priced at Rs 37,999 in India. The phone will be available exclusively from Amazon India starting from January 20.
Talking about the core specifications of the phone, it sports a Samsung sourced 6-inch Full Optic AMOLED with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 and a tall 18:9 aspect ratio. On the photography front it sports a 16 MP + 20 MP dual rear camera setup with an f/1.7 aperture to allow more light. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the phone and is a ceramic made one. It is powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. It gets Bluetooth 5 support, which is augmented with AptX HD support for enhanced wireless audio streaming. It draws power from the 3,300 mAh battery underneath its hood and the proprietary Dash charging feature promises fast charging times.
