Good news for the OnePlus 5 users- OnePlus is rolling out a new beta software update which brings the latest Android 8.1 Oreo to the device. With that, OnePlus 5 also joins the select list of smartphones running latest Android 8.1 Oreo OS. However, as this is a beta software, users need to first subscribe to the Open Beta program first.

What can the users expect from the update?

One of the key features that users get is the auto pick-up gesture which when activates allows users to answer a call simply by raising the phone. For the gamers- there’s power saving features and pausing adaptive brightness while gaming.

The system updates include some general bug fixes and enhancements. There are new clock styles added for ambient display. The update also brings Android security patch to February 2018.

In addition, there’s added support to migrate application data that allows users to switch between devices very easily.

At present, users can get the new beta from the OnePlus website where they can find all instructions to download in case you are new to the program. The official update may also roll out soon over-the-air (OTA).
