The launch event of the latest OnePlus smartphone under its 10-series will be revealed to the Indian masses on April 28. Along with the OnePlus 10R 5G, the Chinese tech giant will also be unveiling the first-ever Nord TWS earbuds and a smartphone under the Nord brand, as well. A microsite has been already launched and OnePlus is teasing a few of the 10R 5G’s key features.

For the Indian market, OnePlus will be the debut OEM to offer 150W charging support on a smartphone. Other features on the OnePlus 10R 5G that are worth mentioning are 50MP primary camera, 120Hz display, and Dimensity 8000-series chipset. The smartphone is yet to be launched in its home market, it will be announced on April 21 in China dubbed as OnePlus Ace.

OnePlus 10R 5G: Key specs & features

The rumor that the upcoming OnePlus device will basically be a rebranded Realme GT Neo 3 is at its peak, and it’s unexpectedly going to be a true one. The latter will be announced here for the Indian market a day after on April 29. Though the spec-sheet is going to be quite identical, the design language will see a slight change.

Upfront, users will be greeted by a big 6.62” AMOLED panel with a punch-hole cutout for the front optical setup. The display will support up to 120Hz refresh rate and will also have a fingerprint scanner beneath it. It will produce FHD+ resolution. On the rear, the triple camera system will house a 50MP main sensor and it will be positioned on the top-left.

The design language opted by OnePlus will come with a textured rear under the camera frame whereas the other half will have the matte surface. The camera module will carry the glossy finish. Talking about the cameras, the punch-hole cutout on the front will house a 16-megapixel sensor. On the rear, OnePlus is offering a Sony IMX766 50-megapixel sensor with OIS. The main lens will be accompanied by a 2MP and a 8MP sensor for macro and ultra-wide shots, respectively.

At its core, the OnePlus 10R 5G will be equipped with a MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100-Max processor. It is expected that the chipset will come paired with up to 12 gigs of LPDDR4x memory and UFS 3.1 native storage of 256GB. The brand is offering SuperVOOC 150W charging on a battery unit of 4,500 mAh. Like the Realme GT NEO 3, there are speculations of another variant with 80W charging and 5,000 mAh battery capacity.

Other notable features are alert slider, a 3.5mm audio port, and a microSD slot to expand the storage.

Pricing and availability

The all-new OnePlus 10R 5G will be available in multiple color options; Arctic Glow, Sierra Black, and Green. The live event will start at 7PM IST on April 28. The brand will also be announcing the next in line Nord CE 2 Lite 5G along with Buds TWS earphones.

The brand has revealed no details related to the price bracket of any of the upcoming launches. However, going by the specs, experts speculate the 10R 5G to fall somewhere between ₹35,000 and ₹50,000. The smartphone will officially be sold through Amazon IN and OnePlus IN website along with Experience Centers.
