Nokia X5Finnish tech giant HMD Global has launched a new smartphone dubbed as Nokia X5. The smartphone was supposed to be launched on July 11, but the launch was delayed and it has now gone official in an event in China. This is second smartphone from Nokia’s kitty to feature an iPhone X like notch, the first being Nokia X6.

Nokia X5 Price and Availability:

The Nokia X5 is priced in China at CNY 999 for 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage, which is roughly Rs. 10,300. The top model with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage is priced at CNY 1,399 which is roughly Rs. 13,999. The sale will begin from July 19, and the registrations for the same have already started on Suning.com. There are three color options available for the user- Night Black, Baltic Sea Blue, and Glacier White. There is no word yet on the availability of the device outside of China.

Nokia X5 Design, Software and Hardware Configurations:

The X5 bears a double-sided glass body with a polycarbonate frame. It features a 5.86-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1520 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio which results into 84 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display comes with iPhone X like notch at the top and has 2.5D glass protection. Under the hood, the phone is backed by a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core SoC coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. There are two internal storage options available for the buyers- 32GB and 64GB. The storage can be extended further up to 256GB via microSD card. It runs pure Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. The battery capacity of the device is 3,060mAh battery that can deliver up to 27 hours of life time and 17.5 hours of talk time.

For the camera buffs, there’s a dual rear camera set up of 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The rear camera set up also features an LED flash placed below the two sensors. The front hosts an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls. The selfie camera comes with AI image technology, built-in portrait background blur, portrait skin mode, HDR mode etc.

For connectivity purpose there’s USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, FM radio, and Dual 4G Dual VoLTE.

Considering the specifications and pricing, the Nokia X5 is expected to compete against the likes of Redmi Note 5, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 and Moto G6.
