HMD Global is planning to launch its new-generation Nokia smartphones in India on 4th April. The invites for the product launch, to be held in New Delhi, have already been sent to media houses.

While the company hasn’t mentioned the name of the products that it intends to launch, the word out there is that it will announce Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco, which was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February 2018.

The price and the availability details of the smartphones may be announced at the event.

As for the specifications, Nokia 7 Plus will feature a 6-inch full HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) fullview screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will offer a cinematic viewing experience. It will also feature 2.5D curved glass cover shielded by Gorilla Glass 3.

The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and 4GB RAM. It will run on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, and will have a storage space of 64GB storage with microSD card slot.

The phone will be well equipped in the camera department too. Its dual main cameras include a 12MP primary shooter with F1.75 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size with ZEISS optics and a secondary 13MP snapper with 1.0µm pixel size, F2.6 aperture with ZEISS optics. Nokia 7 Plus will also feature dual-tone LED flash and a fingerprint sensor. While these are the rear camera sensors, the front camera will have a 16MP sensor with ZIESS optic lens.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco edition will be HMD Global’s most premium phone yet. With a 5.5-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) pOLED display having 700 nits brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, the phone will ensure high quality display. Equipped with IP67 water-and-dust certifications, the smartphone can survive under water for 3 feet for about 30 minutes.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and 6GB DDR4X RAM. With a storage of 128GB (UFS 2.1) that is expandable up to 256GB via microSD, its NFC capabilities and a 3,260mAh battery with fast-charging (Qi Wireless Charging standard) via a Type-C 3.1 USB port, the smartphone does pack in quality attributes.

It also brings along a 12 MP primary shooter with 2L7 wide-angle lens, 1.4um pixel size, F1.7 aperture. To complement the primary, it packs in a 13MP secondary snapper with a 3M3 Telephoto lens, 1.0um pixel size, F2.6 aperture, dual-tone flash and 2x optical zoom. It also features a fingerprint sensor and has a 5MP camera with 1.4um pixel size adorning the front.
