Nokia 4.2Finnish company HMD Global, which makes Nokia smartphones, has finally launched its first smartphone for the Indian market this year i.e. Nokia 4.2. The phone was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in February and now the company has officially launched the same. The handset comes with a fresh new sculpted-glass design and selfie-notch display. The highlights of the device include biometric face unlock and Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset.

Nokia 4.2 Price and Availability in India

The Nokia 4.2 is priced in India at Rs. 10,990 i.e. for the 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage variant. There is another variant that the company had announced i.e. with 2GB RAM but the same will not be launched in the country at this point. The phone will go on sale starting 7th May at the company’s own online store exclusively for a week, post which it will also become available via select retail outlets including Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, and MyG starting May 14th. From May 21, the sales of the phone will expand to all major retail outlets across the country. There will be two colour options available for the interested buyers- Black and Pink Sand.

Nokia 4.2 Features and Specifications

The Nokia 4.2 gets a premium design along with a 2.5D glass protection on the front as well as back. It features a 5.71-inch HD+ screen with resolution of 720×1520 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19:9 and pixel density of 270PPI. The display comes with a tiny waterdrop shaped notch at the top but still runs thick bezels on the top as well as bottom of the screen. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity of the phone is 32GB which is expandable via microSD card up to 400GB. It runs stock Android Pie out of the box as part of the Android One program and packs a 3,000mAh capacity battery.

In the camera department, you get a dual rear camera set up comprising of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture + a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for depth. On the front, there’s an 8-megapixel camera for taking selfies and making video calls.

Connectivity options included in Nokia 4.2 are Micro-USB 2.0 port, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, FM radio, 4G, and VoLTE as well as VoWiFi support. The phone also gets a dedicated Google Assistant button on the left side of the frame which allows you to quickly access the Google AI with just a tap of the button. The onboard sensors include proximity, ambient light and accelerometer. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 148.95 x 71.30 x 8.39 mm and weighs about 161 grams.
