Nikon has announced the launch of its new entry level digital SLR camera – the Nikon D3500. The camera features an effective pixel count of 24.2-megapixels. It comes with a Nikon DX-format CMOS sensor. It replaces the D3400 and is much more portable comparatively.

The Nikon D3500 features an Expeed image processor. It comes with a native ISO range of 100-25600 that is complemented with an 11-point autofocus system. The camera boasts of a special ‘Guide Mode’ that enables beginners to comfortably get started and get accustomed to using a device. The Nikon D3500 comes with a pop-up flash and full HD 1080p video recording in 60 frames per second. The camera also packs in a 3-inch LCD screen.

Nikon D3500 scores over its predecessors because of its lightweight design and its user interface that has been enhanced to make it easy for beginners. The user-friendliness is further enhanced as the most frequently used control buttons are placed on the right-hand side of the camera’s LCD.

Nikon D3500 enables automatic transfer of photos using the SnapBridge app and a Bluetooth connection. The app can seamlessly maintain a consistent and constant connection between devices so that all the photos takes on the D3500 can be easily transferred to a compatible device.

The company has promised an augmented battery life for the D3500. As per its claims, a single complete charge can facilitate up to 1550 clicks. This is a significant improvement over D3400 which enables around 1,200 shots per single charge. Apart from its user-friendliness and its weight, the camera also offers built-in sharing options that enables users to share photos directly from the camera with utmost ease.

The Nikon D3500 will be available for sale from September 20 globally. The camera is priced at $499.95, which roughly converts to Rs. 35,200. It comes with an 18-55mm VR lens kit. Another variant which comes with two lens kits consisting of 18-55 mm and 70-300 mm lens. Is priced at 849.95, which converts to approximately Rs. 59,900.
