The Slate 8 features a 7.9” screen of 2048×1536 pixels whereas the Slate 12 sports a 12.3-inch (1600×1200 pixels) display. Both screens come with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. The tablets run on the Android (OS) KitKat. They are powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor and have 2GB of RAM to enable efficient multitasking. HP has added the new Duet Pen which basically allows the user to not only write on the tab screen but also on any surface and have that writing automatically replicated on the tab. This latest piece of technology will aid paired working. Slate 8 will be available in both 16 GB and 32 GB, while the slate 12 comes in only a 32 GB model. With its tentative price tag of Rs. 27, 000 (Slate 8) and Rs. 35,000 (Slate 12), the tablets are aimed at the business class who will be willing to shell out that kind of money for such a featured product.
Keeping in mind its students market, HP has come up with two tablets aimed at their needs. The Pro Tablet runs on Windows 8 whereas the Pro Slate EE runs on Android. Both come with a stylus for comfortable use. Both have a 10.1” (1280×800) display. They are powered by a 1.33 GHz Atom processor along with 1 GB of RAM. The Android tab will come at an approximate price of Rs.17, 000 while the Windows one is for about Rs.18, 000.
Another Windows offering by Hp comes in the form of the Pro Tablet 408 which has a screen size of 8” and a 1280×800 pixels display. It is powered by a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom processor and has 2 GB of RAM. With an internal storage of 32 GB, it will pack in a lot of pictures, videos and documents. This product is priced at around Rs. 18, 000.
This powerful machine was another big announcement by HP. It is a tablet/ laptop convertible which comes with a huge 11.6” display. It has 4 GB of RAM 128 GB of internal storage. The sleek tablet comes in two resolutions- 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080. It also provides an option of processors. Choose from different Core M processors ranging from 800 MHz to 1.2 GHz. This massive tablet will be available for a price of approximately Rs. 55,000.
