Consumer Electronics giant Sony has announced the launch of new Xperia series at the Mobile World Congress. The new devices introduced by the company include Xperia 1, Xperia L3, Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus smartphones.

The Xperia 1 will be offered at a starting price of EUR 799. The smartphone will go on sale in the US from late spring. The price of the Xperia 10 is $349.99, while the Xperia 10 Plus is priced at $429.99. Both the devices will be available for sale in the US from March 18 onwards. The price and the availability of the Xperia L3, especially in India, is yet to be announced. And availability is yet to be announced.

Sony Xperia 1

Sony Xperia 1 is the flagship smartphone under the brand Sony. The Xperia 1 features a tall display. The smartphone is the first one from the Sony stable to offer an aspect ratio of 21:9. The smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display. The resolution of the screen is 3840 x 1644 pixels. As per Sony, the new display is powered by CineAlta. The screen supports DCI-P3 100 per cent and BT.2020.

The Xperia 1 is also the first smartphone from Sony’s stable to have its own triple-camera setup. The setup comes with a combination of three 12-megapixel sensors. The first 12MP sensor sports a f/1.6 aperture, 1.4-micron pixel size, and the second 12-megapixel sensor comes with a 135-degree wide angle lens with f/2.4 aperture. The third sensor of the smartphone is a f/2.4 aperture.

The setup of the smartphone sports an optical zoom of 2X, OIS and hybrid OIS/EIS video stabilization. The smartphone also offers 960fps super slow-motion video recording at Full HD and HD coupled with 4K HDR movie recording, RAW noise reduction, up to 10fps AF/AE and RGBC-IR sensor. The selfie camera is an 8-megapixel shooter with 1/4 sensor size, 1.12μm, 84-degree wide-angle and f/2.0 aperture.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset along with Adreno 640 GPU. As for the memory, it is backed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The internal storage is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie. It is powered by a battery of capacity 3300mAh. It comes with Qnovo Adaptive charging Quick Charge 3.0 and Qi wireless charging. As for the connectivity options, the smartphone seamlessly connects using 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, NFC and USB 3.1 Type-C port.

Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus

Coming to the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus, both the smartphones run on Android 9.0 Pie and both of them feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus features a 6.0-inch and 6.5-inch Full HD+ CineWide display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels and 21:9 aspect ratio. The Xperia 10 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with Adreno 509 GPU, while the Xperia 10 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. The Xperia 10 is backed by a 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the Xperia 10 Plus is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The Xperia 10 features a dual-camera setup with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens with f/2.4 aperture, 1.4-micron pixel size and 1/ 4-inch sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.4 aperture. The Xperia 10 Plus also packs in a 12-megapixel primary lens with f/1.75 aperture, f/ 2.8-inch sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary shooter with f/2.4 aperture, 1.12-micron pixel size. Both the smartphones feature a selfie camera of 8-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture, 1/4-inch sensor, 1.12-micron pixel size, 84-degree wide-angle lens.

The Xperia 10 is powered by a 2870mAh battery, while the Xperia 10 Plus is equipped with a 3000mAh battery. The smartphones can connect seamlessly over 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C and dual-SIM support.

Sony Xperia L3

The Sony Xperia L3 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display screen. The resolution of the screen is 1520 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset along with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. As for the memory, it is backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card slot.

In the camera department, the Xperia L3 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.12-micron pixel size and a 2-megapixel secondary shooter. The front camera is equipped with an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. As for its battery, it is powered by a battery of capacity 3300mAh. On the connectivity front, it connects using 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C, NFC and dual-SIM.
