Sony has launched a wireless open-ear Bluetooth headset – the SBH82D with NFC support, Google Assistant and Siri voice assistant at the MWC 2019. This follows the launch of a few handsets that it has already launched at the ongoing event. The true free-hand earphones closely resembles the Xperia Ear Duo headset in terms of quality and its build. It features an open-ear design to enable users to enjoy their music seamlessly while having to not mute the surrounding.

As for the connectivity, the Sony SBH82D uses Bluetooth v4.2 to connect seamlessly to a smartphone. The device supports Google Assistant and Siri assistant functions. It is NFC enabled as well and enables quick connectivity through the same.

As for the audio experience, the quality of the music and beat can be explained by the 32 ohms (1kHz) nominal impedance and a frequency of 20–20,000Hz. The headset also offer beat response control.

As per Sony, the headset can offer up to 7.5 hours of music playtime, 8 hours of talk time and a massive 200 hours in stand-by mode. This can happen if the device is charged for just two hours. The users can also answer calls, reject them, and play music, skip tracks and replay or switch to the next song in the playlist by just clicking a button.

The Bluetooth open-ear headphones come with a compact design with foldable wires which makes it easily portable. The light weight of the device adds to the overall portability. The ergonomic feature of easily foldable wire design enables the users to rest the headset behind their neck while they enjoy the audio. The cable length behind-neck measures 255mm. The length of the wire that reaches the ear stands at 210mm. The headset weighs 25.6 grams.

The Sony SBH82D will be available in selected markets around the world. It will be available in colour options namely Black, Gray, and Blue. The company has not yet revealed any details on the pricing of the device.
