Indian smartphone manufacturer CENTRiC is all set to launch five new smartphones including one with a pop-up selfie camera. The company is launching CENTRiC S1 with pop-up selfie camera. The four budget phones that it will launch alongside the new budget-centric smartphones including G5, G3, A2 and L4. CENTRiC will introduce these smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019.

The CENTRiC S1 will be priced between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 in India. The smartphone will be launched in India in the next four months. It will be available for sale through offline avenues. The company will focus on selling through offline channels only and it does not intend to sell through e-commerce channels anytime soon as per Manish Agarwal, the managing director of the company. He has revealed that the upcoming smartphones will come with a Reliance Jio cashback offer as well.

The development makes it the first Indian smartphone manufacturer to bring pop-up selfie camera. The smartphones will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The technology was introduced by Vivo with its Vivo NEX and then to Vivo V11 Pro (in-display fingerprint sensor) and Vivo V15 Pro.

The CENTRiC S1 will feature a 6.2 Full HD+ AMOLED display. The screen-to-body ratio is an impressive 92 per cent and the brightness is above 500nits. The smartphone is powered by the latest MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. As for its memory options, it is available in two variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB of internal storage. Both the variants will come with a sub-Rs. 30,000 price tag. The smartphones will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone will be locally “assembled” in India. In the camera department, it will offer a Sony sensor and it will be equipped with a dual-camera setup as well.

The smartphone will be powered by a 3800mAh battery. It will support fast charging coupled with wireless charging. It will run Android 9.1 Pie, which will offer stock Android experience. The company has conveyed that it will ensure roll out of updates at regular intervals.

The company is also launching the four budget-centric smartphones including G5, G3, A2 and L4. The CENTRiC L4 will be the entry-level smartphone that will come with a sub Rs 10,000 price tag. It will be available in India by the end of March. Rest of the smartphones including G5, G3 and A2 will be available in the next four months and will comes in different price bands.
