MWC 2018: Sony Unveils A Feature-Packed Xperia XZ2 Compact

Along with the Xperia XZ2, the Japanese company also unveiled a compact variant. Called the XZ2 Compact, the smartphone packs in the goodness of its elder sibling in a smaller package.

The XZ2 Compact is based on the new design language. It has reduced bezels and accommodates a tall 18:9 aspect ratio screen. It has stereo front speakers and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Unlike the glassy XZ2, this one has a polycarbonate body. It comes with water and dust resistance.

The phone features a 5-inch Full HD screen. The XZ2 Compact is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chip. It has 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot.

Sony’s new compact flagship offers a 19 MP rear camera. It is backed by 5-axis stabilisation. It can record videos at 4K quality. The phone also comes with an impressive super slow-motion that records at 960 frames per second. For selfies, you get a 5 MP front-facing camera.

Sony will offer this phone is single and dual SIM variants. The smartphone is fully compatible with 4G VoLTE, which is made popular in India by Reliance Jio. The phone covers connectivity features such as dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and NFC. The phone packs in a 2870 mAh Battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact will hit the stores in March 2018. During the announcement, Sony did not reveal the pricing information.
