The Korean giant attempted to grab the limelight with its new flagships, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, but did it? Let’s see… The S7 sports a 5.1” screen with a brilliant 2560×1440 pixels resolution while the S7 Edge sports a bigger 5.5” screen with the same res.

The user can take stunning 4k videos with the 12MP primary camera. Get selfie-ready with the 5MP front camera, or make video calls using the front camera and the 4G connectivity that the phones support. The S7 and S7 Edge boast of the latest 2.15GHz + 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which is a step up from the S6 series of Galaxy.

Space hungry users will jump with joy knowing the new Galaxies will come with expandable storage of up to 200GB, something that was painfully missing from the earlier Smartphone. The battery life saw some impressive improvements too; the S7 gets its juice from a 3,000 mAh battery while the S7 Edge’s bigger screen requires a bigger battery capacity of 3,600 mAh.

The S7 and S7 Edge have done the rough and tough users of Smartphones a small favour by getting an IP68 Water and Dust Resistance!

The certainly expensive phones do not have a price tag on them yet, but will soon be revealed as the phones are reportedly going to hit the markets come March.

  • LG G5

Sometimes, just when you have written off someone as “done” they come back with something innovative. The LG G5 is one such striking flagship. The phone comes with a 5.3” QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, 4G support, 32GB of internal storage which can be supplemented by external card slot.

No, these are not the remarkable features of the LG G5 that we’re referring to! Those looking for the ‘next big thing’ (Sorry, Samsung) will stand amazed by the LG G5’s modular make; you can pull out the chin of the LG G5 which houses the battery, and replaces it with the LG Cam Plus. Furthermore, the component serves as a source of power too, with its 1,100 mAh battery.

Another cool removable module is the LG Hi-Fi Plus, developed with the high-end audio brand, Bang & Olufsen. This basically translates to a better quality audio than even MP3!

Oh yes, I almost forgot. Camera lovers will find an added appeal with the LG G5 thanks to its dual rear cameras of 16MP, and 8MP.

Needless to say, LG has the upper hand if the market opens up to the idea of a modular Smartphone, and seeing how the new Samsung Galaxies are lacking in innovation, we don’t think the Galaxy S6 users will see any use in updating to the S7.
