Earlier last week, Lenovo-owned Motorola launched its Motorola One smartphone in India alongside Moto G7. Company was teasing the launch of Moto G7 for quite a while, but the launch of Motorola One came as a surprise. The price of the device in India is set at Rs. 13,999, and its highlights include 4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 625 SoC and 5.9-inch display. Considering the price and specifications, the Motorola one is expected to compete against the likes of Realme 2 Pro (launched in India on 27th September’18) and Xiaomi’s much-awaited all-rounder Redmi Note 7 Pro (launched in February’19). Notably, the 6GB RAM variant of the Redmi Note 7 Pro also went on sale in the country recently. Motorola One vs Realme 2 Pro vs Redmi Note 7 Pro: Price in India
The Motorola One has been priced in India at Rs. 13,999 for the lone 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant and will be available in Clear White and Ceramic Black. The phone is up for grabs via Moto Hub stores, authorised retail outlets, and eCommerce giant Flipkart.com.
The Realme 2 Pro was launched last year with three memory variants priced as below,
- 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage priced at Rs. 13,990
- 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage priced at Rs. 15,990
- 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage priced at Rs. 17,990
The Redmi Note 7 Pro was launched in February and went on sale for the first time in India back on March 13th. At the time of launch, the company announced two memory variants- 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage. However, only the former was up for grabs until now. Now, Realme has confirmed that the 6GB RAM variant will also go on sale in the country starting today (April 3rd). The price of the 4GB RAM memory variant is set at Rs. 13,999 and the 6GB RAM is set at Rs. 16,999. The available colour options for the interested buyers are Neptune Blue, Nebula Red, and Classic Red. While the Neptune Blue and Nebula Red comes with a gradient finish, the Classic Black has a solid matte color finish.

The Motorola One comes equipped with a relatively small 5.9-inch Max Vision LCD display with HD+ resolution of 720×1520 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio and a layer of 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top. The display features a typical wide notch at the top instead of the latest dew drop shaped notch. The Realme 2 Pro bears a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and 409 ppi pixel density. The display features a dew drop shaped notch at the top which houses the selfie camera. The Redmi Note 7 Pro sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display along with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop-style notch to accommodate the selfie camera. The bezels surrounding the display measures just 1.95 mm. The phone comes with a 2.5D curved glass on the front as well as back, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both the sides, protecting it from minor scratches. The Redmi Note 7 Pro and Realme 2 Pro score a better in terms of screen size as well as resolution as compared to Motorola One.
In terms of dimensions, the Motorola One measures 155.8 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm and weighs in at 170 grams. The Realme 2 Pro has dimensions of 156.7 x 74 x 8.5 mm and weight of 174 grams, while the Redmi Note 7 Pro has dimensions of 159.21 x 75.21 x 8.10 mm and weight of 186 grams. So, the Realme 2 Pro is the slimmest, while the Motorola One is the lightest of the three phones.

The Motorola One draws its power from Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor along with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 506 GPU. The inbuilt storage capacity of the device is 64GB, which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The Realme 2 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660AIE chip along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB inbuilt storage.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro is shipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core chipset which is manufactured using the 11nm FinFET process, coupled with Adreno 612 GPU. There are two options in terms of storage- 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage. The storage capacity can be extended further up to 512GB by means of a microSD card.
Needless to mention, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is best in terms of performance as compared to the Motorola One and Realme 2 Pro, thanks to its powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC.

The Motorola One is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that has support for TurboPower fast charging. The Realme 2 Pro is fueled by 3500mAh battery, whereas the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is fueled by an impressive 4,000mAh battery that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0. Once again, the Redmi Note 7 bags the top spot in this department.

In terms of software, the Motorola One gets a stock Android One interface to look after the errands. The company promises a smooth user experience and timely Android updates. The Realme 2 Pro is shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with company’s own ColorOS 5.2 on top. The Redmi Note 7 Pro runs company’s own MIUI 10 based on Google’s latest Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box.

The Motorola One gets a dual rear camera setup that comprises of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture + a secondary 2-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there’s an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
The Realme 2 Pro also features dual camera set up on the back consisting of a 16-megapixel primary Sony IMX398 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture sensor + a secondary sensor 2-megapixel sensor. For selfies, there is a 16-megapixel sensor on the front with an f/2.0 aperture, and AI Beauty 2.0.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro sports a dual rear camera setup that consists of a combination of a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens + a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. The front hosts a 13-megapixel sensor at the front for selfies and video calls.
Although camera performance on paper and in actual can defer, we can confidently declare the Redmi Note 7 as a winner purely on the basis of its camera configuration, thanks to the a 48-megapixel primary sensor. For selfies, the Realme 2 Pro can be a good option as well.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro is a clear winner in terms of performance, camera set up and battery backup. Moreover, although it is priced same as that of Realme 2 Pro and Motorola One, it provides a better value for money as it offers a lot when compared to the other two devices. The ones who prefer a pure stock Android experience, can opt for Motorola One though.
