Moto G is arguably the most successful and popular smartphones from the Motorola house. The phone has been a huge hit among the Indian consumers and acknowledging the demand for the model, Motorola has time and again repaid the customers with new iterations of the phone. Not long ago, we saw the launch of Moto G 2nd Gen and now Motorola has gone a step further and has announced Motorola 3rd Generation phone for the modern day, ‘Y’ Gen customers.
There have been quite a buzz about the launch of Moto G 3rd Gen smartphone, putting rest to all that hype and rumors, Motorola unveiled the Moto G successor at an event held in Delhi on July 28th. While, the company was expected to unveil a couple of more new devices, the company reveled in showing off the 3rd Gen Moto G smartphone.
The 3rd iteration of the Moto G series, this new smartphone falls in the same price category as its predecessors but it comes with an improved design and better features. There are two variants of the phone, one with 8 GB storage capacity, which is priced at Rs. 11,999/- and the second one is a 16 GB model priced at 12, 999/-. Let us take a closer look at the different aspects of the phone:
Motorola deserves credit for its new improved design; compared to the last two models, the 3rd Gen Moto G has a smart design. It has a ribbed pattern running along the back, which gives it a new look and the metallic frame add that extra bit of elegance to the phone. The signature curve at the back make it easier to hold as it snugly fits in your palm.
The Moto G 3rd Gen comes in two basic colors – White and Black. However, users, can customize the look of their phone with 5 different flip shells and 10 Motorola shells that are available in a variety of colors and made with different materials.
The 5 inch screen offers an amazing 720 pixel display that gives users a crystal clear view of the screen from different angles. The sharp, vibrant and bold colors make browsing, gaming and watching videos great fun. The touchscreen is pretty responsive and gives users an awesome navigation experience. To keep the screen protected, Motorola has put a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that keeps the phone safe from scratches and user marks.
Hardware and OS
At the core of the Moto G 3rd Gen Phone lies the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 1.4 GHz quad-core processor. The new processor is believed to offer better performance than its predecessors; however, it is too early to say anything about it. It can be assessed only when the phone hits the market. The Moto G 2nd Gen successors runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The Moto G 3rd Gen boasts of a massive 13 MP rear camera with LED Flash that allows users to click decent quality pictures even under low light conditions. For all the selfie lovers out there, the phone has a 5 MP camera, which also doubles up as a web camera during video calls.
Motorola phones have been known for its powerful battery life and the 3rd Gen Moto G smartphone is no different. The phone is powered by a powerful 2470 mAh battery. Motorola assures that when the phone is fully charged, it would easily last for a full day with mixed usage.
The new Moto G variant has been designed so that it is completely safe from accidental water splashes and drops in the water. The phone has the capacity to resist water immersion up to 3 feet for about 30 minutes.
