Motorola introduced Moto G9 Play in August this year in the European market. The smartphone was basically the rebranded variant of the Indian Moto G9 that was revealed here the same month. There was also a Plus model in the G9 lineup where Motorola had offered Snapdragon 730 chipset. In an online-only event, the brand has unveiled Moto G9 Power that is a budget-friendly offering and will find its place between Moto G9 Play and Moto G9 Plus.

The brand also unveiled a 5G-capable smartphone, Moto G 5G. In July, Motorola had unveiled the Moto G 5G Plus with Snapdragon 765G, and this new offering will be a lite version of the Plus model. Moto G 5G Plus was the most competitive 5G smartphone from the brand.

Moto G 5G: Key specs & features

The display on the Moto G 5G is a 6.7” LCD panel with a punch-hole design on the top. The panel will also support HDR10+ and will feature full HD+ resolution. The aspect ratio will be 20:9. The brand has offered a fingerprint scanner on the right edge, integrated with the power button.

Coming to the optics, Moto G 5G sports a triple-camera setup where the primary sensor will be a 48MP one coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensor. The punch-hole cutout will house a 16MP selfie camera. The square-shaped camera housing will also have a dual-tone LED flash.

At its core, Moto G 5G sports a Snapdragon 750G chip paired with 6 gigs of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The chipset was seen first on Xiaomi’s Mi 10T Lite. Moto G 5G will be equipped with a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.

Moto G9 Power: Key specs & features

With almost the same size panel of 6.78”, Moto G9 Power comes with an LCD panel with a punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner. The screen resolution will be HD+ with an aspect ratio of 20.5:9.

The optics on Moto G9 Power is also housed in the square-shaped layout. The primary sensor is a 64MP at f/1.79 and it will be paired with dual 2MP macro and depth sensors. It will also have a dual-tone LED flash. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the M logo.

Moto G9 Power will draw its power from the Snapdragon 662 SoC on 4GB RAM. The internal storage will be 128GB. The smartphone will feature a bigger 6,000 mAh battery with fast charging support up to 20W.

Both the smartphones will boot on Android 10 with a custom My UX skin on top. The connectivity features will also be similar on both models such as dual 4G SIM, WiFi ac, a 3.5mm audio port, NFC, and Bluetooth. Motorola is also offering IP52 splash-resistant ratings on Moto G9 Power and Moto G 5G.

Pricing and availability

The more affordable model, Moto G9 Power will come in Electric Violet and Metallic Sage color options. It will come at a very affordable price tag of €199 (~₹17,400). The elder brother, Moto G 5G will be available in Volcanic Gray and Frosted Silver color options. It will be priced at €299 for the 4+128GB variant and €349 for the 6+128GB one. It will roughly translate to ₹26,100 and ₹30,600, respectively.
