Moto Z4Lenovo’s sub-brand Motorola has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of Moto Z4 smartphone. After being subjected to several leaks and rumours, the phone was finally launched in the U.S. Notably, Amazon was reported to have listed the Motorola Z4 prior to its launch. The phone is successor to last year’s Moto Z3, and it is the first Z series phone that the company has launched this year. The highlights of the phone include Sony’s 48-megapixel IMX586 sensor and Snapdragon 675 SoC.

Moto Z4 Pricing Details

The Moto Z4 is price in the U.S. at $499 (approx. Rs. 34,900) for its sole 4GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage variant. The pre-orders for the smartphone have already started and it will go on sale starting June 6 in the U.S. and in Canada later this summer. The phone comes in two colours- Flash Grey and Frost White. The company has not yet revealed any details regarding the launch of the phone in India.

Moto Z4 Features and Specifications

The Moto Z4 comes equipped with 6.4-inch full-HD+ OLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. The display features a water drop shaped notch at the top that houses the selfie camera. The phone has an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, there’s an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC to keep things ticking along with 4GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage capacity of the device is 128GB which is expandable up to 2TB using a microSD card. The device will run Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box and will be backed by a 3,600mAh battery that can offer up to 2 days of battery life as claimed by the company. It comes bundled with the company’s own 15W TurboPower fast charging technology.

In terms of optics, there’s a 48MP camera sensor on the back that has an f/1.7 aperture, a pixel size of 1.6-microns and in normal photo mode it produces 12MP pictures. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 25-megapixel camera on the front with an f/2.0 aperture and a 0.9-micron pixel size. The camera set up is backed by OIS and features like Night Vision and scene optimisation.

In terms of connectivity, there’s 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, USB Type-C. The device also brings back the 3.5mm headphone jack that was missing on previous Moto Z models. The onboard sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. The dimensions of the phone are 158 x 75 x 7.35 mm and its weight is 165 grams.
