Lenovo owned Motorola has announced a new Moto Z3 smartphone in the US. along with 5G Moto Mod, an accessory that adds next-generation 5G cellular capabilities to the Moto Z3. The Moto Z3 is a near-flagship device which is successor of Moto Z2. It has specifications that are slightly lower than the recently launched Moto Z3 Play. Both Moto Z3 and 5G Moto Mod are exclusive to Verizon in the US. Moto Z3 can be bought for $20 per month for 24 months. The company is offering up to $300 off on the phone under its device payment plan. The Moto Z3 will become available from August 16, while the 5G Moto Mod will hit the US market in early 2019.

The Moto Z3 sports a glass cover with aluminum metal frame in between and a 2.5D glass design on the front. The phone has water-repellent P2i coating that protects it from sudden water spills and splashes. The fingerprint sensor has an unconventional placement on the right side instead of the usual rear or front. The phone features One Button Nav allows users to swipe left to go back, right to access recent apps, and tap to go home. The display is 6-inch full-HD+ AMOLED with 1080×2160 pixel resolution and Max Vision 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. The onboard storage capacity is 64GB which can be extended up to 2TB using a microSD card. All of this is fueled by a 3,000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery that has support for fast charging. It runs Android Oreo 8.1 operating system out of the box.

In terms of optics, you’ll find a dual camera set up on the rear comprising of 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a 12-megapixel monochrome sensor with dual-LED flash. The front hosts an 8-megapixel snapper with an f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also doubles up as Face Unlock.

The connectivity options included in Moto Z3 are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. Unfortunately, the 3.5mm headphone jack is missing. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 156.5×76.5×6.75 mm and weighs about 156 grams. There is only one color option available for the users i.e. Ceramic Black.
