Motorola has launched its much talked about Moto G6 series phones at an event in Brazil. The Lenovo owned company has launched three smartphones under the series – Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play.

The Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play have premium specifications. The smartphone maker have created Moto G6 for its budget segment users as it has specifications are toned down accordingly.

The Moto G6 Plus is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 630 processor with Adreno 508 GPU. The Moto G6 Play is driven by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 processor while the Moto G6 is powered by a more powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor clocked at 1.8GHz.

As for the RAM, the Moto G6 Play facilitates 2GB and 3GB RAM options. Moto G6 possesses 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM versions while the Moto G6 Plus boasts of 4GB and 6GB of RAM. While the Moto G6 Play 2GB RAM version is complemented by 16GB of storage, the 3GB RAM version is coupled with 32GB storage. The Moto G6 3GB RAM version and the 4GB RAM version come with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage respectively.  The Moto G6 Plus, both the 4GB and 6GB RAM variants come to the customer with 64GB of internal storage. All three smartphones of the Motorola G6 series support expandable storage.

The Moto G6 Plus boasts of a 5.9-inch bezel-less display as compared to the other two smartphones in the series which have a 5.7-inch bezel-less display and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Moto G6 Play offers display with HD+ resolution while the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus feature a full-HD+ screen resolution.

The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus boast of a dual rear camera wherein the primary camera has a 12-megapixel sensor and a secondary camera has a sensor of 5-megapixel. The Moto G6 Play features a 13-megapixel image sensor with f/2.0 aperture. All the three Moto G6 phones come with an 8-megapixel front camera for selfie lovers.

The three smartphones in this series are powered by Android 8.0 Oreo software out-of-the-box. The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus are backed by a 3,000mAh and 3,200mAh battery set up with 15W Turbo Charging support. The Moto G6 Play runs on a more powerful 4,000mAh battery. The Moto G6 Play comes with support for 10W fast charging. The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus include a USB Type-C port, while the Moto G6 Play features a standard micro-USB port.

The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus have a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, while it is embedded at the back for G6 Play. The Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 feature a dual-tone, dual-lens LED flash at the rear and a selfie flash upfront. The Moto G6 Play offers a single LED flash on the back, and a single selfie flash on the front.

The Moto G6 phones will offer great gaming experience due to its new edge-to-edge Full HD+ Max Vision display. It has integrated Dolby Audio pre-set modes for enhanced sound experience. Moto G6 features scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass with a 3D contoured back for a comfortable grip. The phones possess p2i water-repellent coating to protect the phone from splashed of water or rain.

All the three Motorola phones including the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus will be available in Asia Pacific including India from next week.  While its prices in India is yet to be disclosed by Motorola, the Moto G6 Play has been launched at a starting price of $199 which is roughly Rs 13,135. While the Moto G6 will be priced at $249 (around Rs 16,435) and the Moto G6 Plus will start at 299 Euros (which roughly converts to around Rs 24,300). The Moto G6 smartphones are available in four colours namely – Deep Indigo, Black, Blush, and Silver. However, the Moto G6 Play comes in two colours only – Deep Indigo and Flash Gray.
