For all you Moto G fans waiting for an upgrade to your device, here’s something to cheer about. Motorola recently announced that it will be launching the Moto G4 and the G4 Plus on June 9. However, the company is more likely to unveil other models as well including the Moto E (4th Gen) and the Moto X. But, the G4 and the G4 Plus is surely hitting shelves in India in the next couple of months.

The announcement doesn’t quite come in as a surprise, as news related to the upcoming Moto release has already been making rounds on the internet for quite a while now. Forming a strong base for the reports are the images posted by Evan Blass (a mobile reporter) on Twitter, one of which is displayed below.

While many handset manufacturers prefer doing away with physical buttons on the front, Moto, in fact, decides to take the opposite path. The handset seems to have a tiny square ‘Home’ button at the bottom centre. Hold no! This button includes a fingerprint sensor. So, no doubt, Motorola surely got this one right. But, that’s not the only image making the netizens go “woo hooooo!” Check out the one displayed below. Have a closer look and you’ll find the Motorola logo placed at the top-left corner of the device. Quite a strong move by Motorola, isn’t it? And of course, the fingerprint scanner can be seen at the bottom centre. Embed Tweet

To be honest, nothing much is yet known about the internal specifications. But, a 5-inch display is definitely on the radar. However, some even speculate the G4 to sport a 5.5-inch screen with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Well, let’s wait till the actual specs are out.

Presently, phone experts are busy speculating on the internal features, and it won’t make sense keeping a tab on all of them. But, some of these speculations, when inspected closely, do make a good amount of sense. The device will come preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will most likely be ready for an upgrade to Android N, later this year as soon as the OS is released.

While its predecessor Moto G3 came with Snapdragon 410 processor, we can expect G4 to come with an upgraded 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 and its big brother G4 plus with Snapdragon 650. As far as ROM is concerned, we might see 8 GB with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB variant with 3 GB RAM.

While the G4 may stick to a 5MP front-facing snapper, the G4 Plus could make selfie-lovers happy with an impressive 8 MP snapper in the front.

So, in easy words, we can probably expect things to be a step ahead of what its predecessors hold.

Finally, before we wrap it all up, let’s talk about the price as well, and again, we are just playing the guessing game, making sure we are quite close to what we can expect. According to PC advisor UK, the Moto G4 is expected to cost somewhere around $269 (Rs. 16200 approx.), while the Moto G4 Plus will hold a price tag of $314 (Rs. 18840 approx.). So, if that’s the case, it is clear that Motorola doesn’t intend to miss out on targeting the budget and the mid-segment customers. So, all you Moto-lovers out there get ready for some serious goodness coming your way!
